Lesson 1
Chiaki meets Nodame…
This is one my favourite animes along with Kanon now, the story starts with Chiaki watching his ‘idol’, Sebestian Viera conducting an orchestra, Chiaki had always wanted to be a conductor . He tried to be a conductor’s apperentice but was kicked out when he was young (-_-). Now, he is studying in this musical academy and he finds the peoeple around him not up to his standard.
While he was playing the piano and thinking on the fact that another fellow student is going aboard to further his music studies, Chiaki got frustrated over the fact he is stuck in Japan (well, he have fear for taking flights due to a plane incident when he was young). He hit the piano keys hard and was hit on the head by his instructor. His instructor found out there are some scores he written nicely and sort of commented if he wants to be a conductor instead. Well, i would say the comment was pretty blunt and Chiaki blew up and his instructor walked out.
Chiaki met his friend, Saiko and both of them got into a pub, Saiko heard what happened between the instructor and him. Saiko believed that he should apologise. Chiaki believes that his dream is still to be a conductor. In the end, Chiaki got drunk and landed up out his apartment – drunk.
A girl, apparently her neighbor found him asleep the apartment, took a closer look at him and blew air onto his face. Chiaki felt as if he was in ‘heaven’ with the soothing music in the background. He woke up, dazed as garbage surrounded him. In the midst of this pile of rubbish, a girl is playing Beethoven’s piano sonata – Pathétique.
The girl is Noda Megumi, she is known as Nodame. Towards the end of episode, Chiaki realizes Nodame is really good in her piano although she is a lil uncoordinated and the both of them starts to plays a piece of Mozart’s sonata in D major together. I really enjoyed the last few moments of the episode with the music playing in the background.
At the end of this episode, Nodame believes she fell in love with her senpai- Chiaki. Chiaki denies but of cos, Nodame is too lovestruck that nothing goes into her head.
Did i mention I loved both the OP and the ED ? They rock ;)
