Kanon2006 ep22 - 追想の交響楽～symphony～

An episode of sadness…

Nayuki and Yuuichi went past the accident scene on a car, the sight was unbearable for Nayuki and the sight of the strawberry cake on the road traumatised her. At the hospital, the doctor told them that Akiko’s still not out of danger. Yuuichi and Nayuki went to the waiting room after Yuuichi contacted his parents. Nayuki’s emotions were totally lifeless, traumatised by the fact that her mum got into an accident because of her. Both of them were told by the doctor that Akiko’s condition will stay for the same and advised them to go home first.

At home, Yuuichi prepared meals for themselves but when he starts to give Nayuki her food, she starts to blame herself as the cause of Akiko’s accident. Yuuichi scolded her and Nayuki ran back to her own room. Nayuki stayed in the room after this, Yuuichi was unable to get in as she had locked the door. Without any much choices left, Yuuichi left her meals outside.

At school, Kitagawa gave Yuuichi his support and mentions he will help with anything he can. Yuuichi walked past the snow bunny at school and was the scenes of what he did to Nayuki’s snow rabbit 7 years ago flashed past him. Back home, Yuuichi looks at the neoprints (i am not sure what u guys call it, we call it neoprints in sg. i believe it is call purikura or smth) . Nayuki, Aikoko , Makoto and him were inside. He wondered if Makoto is here, will she be able to cheer Nayuki up.

The next day, Yuuichi found that Nayuki had eat some of the food that he had left outside of her room. He was suprised when he found that her rooms is now unlocked. Inside, Nayuki was sitting by the window, curled up. Nayuki asked him to get out because she just wants to be alone. Yuuichi tries to comfort her Akiko will definitely be fine. Nayuki gave Yuuichi a question in return - Can he create a miracle ? Nayuki releates her close relationship with her mother and even though she never saw her father before, she was never lonely all because of her mum- Akiko. Now, Nayuki blames herself for the cause of her mum’s accident. Yuuichi tries to comfort her that it is not true and she is not alone because her friends are with her and Yuuichi is with her. Nayuki replies back the fact that he did not reply back to her letters when she sent to him everytime 7 years ago and calls him a liar for being the fact that he had forgotten her and all that he had done before to her. Yuuichi admits that it is his fault for what he did with the snow bunny 7 years ago. He showed Nayuki the marble he gave her, but was shocked when Nayuki shouted for him to get out of her room with tears streaming down her eyes. Yuuichi dropped the marble, shocked

Back in his own room, Yuuichi thinks about the question Nayuki asked - A miracle. Yuuichi remembers someone being hurt 7 years ago and he was unable to do anything. As he starts thinking, he starts to enter a dream..or rather…his memories.

7 years ago, Yuuichi and Ayu had a meeting under the tree in the forest. Yuuichi was late but he had a present for Ayu. He hides it up and meets her. It is the last day with Ayu as Yuuichi bought Taiyaki for her. Ayu commented that this is not the last day as they will be meeting in the future too. Yuuichi mentions he will introduce his cousin to her the next time they meet as well.

Ayu climbs up the tree again and enjoyed the scenery again. As Yuuichi starts to take out his present to give her, a strong breeze blew. Ayu lost her balance and fell off the tree

She landed on the ground. Ayu was in pain but a while later, Ayu starts to lose strength and she started to feel nothing and her body was unable to move. Ayu was worried that she will not be able to play with Yuuichi anymore. Yuuichi promises her they will play together again and does a pinky promise (yubi-kiri) to Ayu. Ayu did not left go of her finger. Yuuichi mentions it is a need to let go of each other fingers in a pinky promise. However, Ayu did not respond. Her eyes closed and tears streaming down. Yuuichi cried out her name.

Yuuichi wakes up suddenly and he realizes he had regained some of his memories that happened to Ayu 7 years ago. He rushes out of the house and bumps into Kitagawa. He wants Kitagawa to take care of Nayuki first and rushes out towards the forest despite a snowstorm. Yuucichi makes his way towards the tree trunk where Ayu and him met. However, the snowstorm made his journey a tough one and in the end, he collapsed. Thinking that he was about to die, a person appeared, surrounded by a glow of light. Makoto appeared. She walks over to Yuuichi and covers him with her body and calls out his name.

All of a sudden, a bright glow of light appeared before the both of them, Makoto was pretty suprised too. Yuuichi looked as he was enveloped by the light. Yuuichi finds himself with the Ayu 7 years ago. He handed her a present- a hairband and Ayu promises to wear it the next time they meet. With that, the episode ends.

The next epsiode, titled Finale should conclude the story. Well, there are 24 episodes if i am not wrong. So, what could be ep24? I would believe it is like AIR, a recap of all the episodes at the last episode or maybe a conclusion with what happened to every character in the future.

damn! i am so sad that kanon is ending soon. well, good things dont last . dont they ? ;)
