Lucky Star OP - “Motteke! Sailor Fuku (もってけ！セーラーふく)” by Aya Hirano, Emiri Katou, Kaori Fukuhara & Aya Endo
Lucky star made a good start last weekend, I am not going to blog on this episode in detail as how the story plot flows. Basically, this is not a normal anime with a plot. Ep1 is basically a meaningless and yet hilarous question and answer session. We have 4 of our stars, Konata, Miyuki, Tsukasa and Kagami involved in most of the anime. You need to have a good understanding of this genre of humor to appreciate it imo. Basically, this story starts off with an introduction of Konata, the blue haired girl who exceled in her sports and yet she is not in the sports or any club because she does not want to miss out on the animes and gaming after school. The scene shifts to Konata and Tsukasa in class during break time. Konata and Tsukasa exchanged a very interesting conversation on different kinds of food where the Miyiki joins in and the 3 of them are engaged on each of them eat the same type of food.
More food discussion, from cream puffs to custards and egg with mayo (yummy)….
Next up, the scene shifts to show our other main character - Tsukasa’s sister, Kagami. Another discussion on why Konata is able to play eroge, galge games when she is only a 2nd year, followed by another discussion between Miyuki and Konata. Miyuki talks about herself being so reckless and bumping into things when she is outside. Konata answers that it is not a bad thing, in fact..thats moe.. -_-
This part is a little hard for me to understand the joke until I paused to think a little. The part which talks about influenza and colds. Tsukasa explains there is a flu outbreak but Konata tells her that she is stupid hence she cant catch a cold. (according to some blog sources, eg:randomc…it is a japanese saying) Tsukasa is aware and asks how about flu and Konata thought the both are the same -_- (of course not !)

lol?! STREET FIGHTER?! Kagami asks Konata how Tsukasa and her get to know each other….and our lovely Konata explained that she saw Tsukasa with a foreigner and seems to be in danger..hence she saved Tsukasa and beat the foreigner ….with a hurricane kick(ryu style..lol). The episode ends with Konata and Kagami engaged in a conversation about food again…onions anyone?
It is not ended…Lucky Channel is here ! (-.-”) The episode ends without a ED, the 4 of our stars are in a room singing karoke…i cant understand what song they sang though… lol..hope next episode has the ED…
My favourite character has got to be Tsukasa. She is sooooooooo cute ! :D (the rest are cute too :P ). As not many may know, Lucky star is an anime adaptation of its yon-koma series. yon koma a.k.a 4-koma is something like those comic strips in newspaper where there are just 4 panel strip that has a kind of punchline in it. The OP is really hilarious and yet classic…. soundtrack-wise, very properly executed and its is able to bring out the humor sense to me. Seiyuu? not really a lot of popular seiyuu except Hirano Aya which ..woot! The rest did a good job in vocalising the characters. This anime is definitely for you if you enjoyed series like Ichigo Mashimaro, Hidamari Sketch! kinds of animes. ;) It is a diferent sense of humor. Its way of appreciation is not like any normal anime. Kyoto Animation is behind this production, i hope the later episodes will be good. ep2 preview is promising…definitely looking forward to it ! :D

I loved the OP too. I don’t see why people are dissing it.
In fact, it was better for me than Hare Hare. The moves, the music…everything…Oh..And the number of girls.
I can’t wait for the full version of it.
Some parts of the episode were boring but others were funny enough. And the fact that Konata is a Game/Manga/Anime maniac got to me.
Kagami going all flustered because of her *first* thoughts on why Konata visited, was cute too.

I love this show, it’s absolutely adorable. I got my sister attached to is randomness, and obviously myself too. It cheers me up and makes me laugh. Lol, so cute!
