Hitohira ep3 - 初舞台
Never ever hide in the cubicle of a washroom….
It’s May now and Asai is nervous about her first performance on the stage, the seniors were discussing about the preparations of the performance later in the evening but Asai did not appear. Kai entered the club room but was ordered by her sister to search for him. He found her but Asai was in the ladies, hiding. Kayo was asking Asai to open up the cubicle door and get ready but apparently she refuses and continues to hide in tears. Nono appears and describes a horrifying story about the cubicle and Asai got freaked out and she finally ran out of the cubicle. Sadly, she was being tricked.
The club prepares pamphlets and different ways to promote themselves in the school. Chitose cheered for Takashi. Mirei appeared and gave some sacarstic remarks on the Drama research club but Nono returns her the ‘favor’ back.
Back at the drama club room (note: that mirei’s club), Chitose made her own Takashi doll and expresses her love to it (-__-). Mirei and her club mates entered the room, Mirei was definitely not happy with what had happened just now. After she left, her club mates shared a rumor to Chitose which got her very suprised. She rushed to the hall to find Nono, interupting their rehearsal while asking Nono is suffering from (i am not sure what is the disease name…but judging from the translation, it is the numbing of vocal cards?) and is affecting her from taking part in drama acting. Nono admits and asks Chitose to leave. Mirei appears in this awkward moment and brings Chitose away. After the pair left, Nono informs the rest to prepare themselves for the actual play.
The actual play starts and Asai is getting very nervous as usual. Nono shares her past with Asai. Nono had lost her voice in a summer and the doctor has diagnosed it as an acute attack on her vocal cords, it was cured but the side-effects remains. It was her dear friend who encouraged her to continue in drama and obviously, it was Mirei who gave her the encouragement. Nono was grateful for that and it was Mirei who gave her the passion to continue partcipating in drama. Asai’s turn to appear on the stage is approaching. Asai gets nervous and forgets her sentences, Nono holds her hands and calms her down, telling her of the moments when she saw Asai. Nono comforts her and tells her to have more self confidence. Asai calms down and walks out to the stage.
As if a miracle appeared, Asai let out her voice on the stage, her friend, Kayo and Chitose cheered. Mirei left the hall and wishes them good luck for their final play in october and believes it will be thier last. After the play, the club celebrates over Asai’s first performance on stage and they were happy that she was able to speak on the stage.
Asai spilled her drink on her dress and she gets tensed up again…and she lost her voice again.. lol.

Pretty heartwarming episode, particularly at the scene when Nono calms Asai down. Asai has made her first step in drama performance. I wonder what caused Mirei and Nono to have such enemity between the both of them and why 2 clubs were there. It could be Nono trying to prove to Mirei or Mirei had issued a challenge back then to her best friend, nono to prove herself that she can do it.?
Asai-chan kawaii!

Hello again…
Nice summary as usual.
I am really likin’ these Nono/Asai moments and by the looks of things, I ain’t the only one *Wink.wink*
On the flash back moments and the present, I too wonder what happened between the two. It could be that Nono’s voice no longer was up to stage-level and she couldn’t be the drama club head, seeing as that role had already been taken.
Or, they might just be showing a little rivalry since there are two different clubs on acting.
I hope Nono’s disease isn’t that bad. I would be supremely sad if she left…
And did you say *Sadly* To Nono telling a lie so that Asai could come out of the stall?! I would like to think of it as Funny, or cute. As we get to see more Nono awesomeness.
Thank you for the blogs and hope that 4 will be as moving as this or even better.
