Bokurano ep02- Zearth ( ジアース)
This is just only the beginning for these kids….

The incidents that took place were reported as an earthquake. The kids were back safely at home and they were still pretty, however, there were people who witnessed the monsters. The kids went back to the room to discuss about what they should do next, some of the girls believed they should tell their parents while the boys were pretty excited and wants to get on with the battles. Their conversation was interrupted when an unknown creature appears and identifies itself as the Dung Beetle (wtf?). Takami asks a question if they could withdraw from a battle but the dung beetle tells her it is not possible as thye had signed the contract. The whole lot was warped to the insides of the robot again. Massaru finds glasses on the floor which belongs to Kokopelli and believes that the real Kokopelli is someone else (just a speculation). Jun starts to complain why her sister is here as she did not sign the contract, the beetle mentions it was ok anyway. The dung beetle warps in 14 chairs for them..some are really….odd looking but they kids were able to identify as they are to associated to everyone of them. The chairs start to spin and a symbol appears on the ground. Like the russian roulette, the chair that was chosen by the symbol, was Takashi’s. Takashi asked the whole lot if they had heard the voice. The dung beetle explains that he has heard the voice because he has been chosen to be the upcoming pilot for the robot.

At night, Takashi plays with his soccer ball while the others stayed at the room waiting for the enemy to appear. Moji goes out to have a chat with him, Takashi tells him that he wants to be a hero behind the scenes. Back at the room, Kanji got a suprise when he saw descriptions of a creature near the island. Indeed, an unknown alien with the appearance of a praying mantis warps in to Earth. This time, the the townspeople was shocked and city was in commotion to see the creature warping in. The kids get ready for battle. In the robot, Takashi readies and sits on the chair, the 14 children except Kana all has a chair so in the end, Aiko has to take her cushion’s extension for Kana to sit on. The chairs hovers up and Takashi prepares to move the robot by thought. He asks the dung beetle if the robot has a name. There is none for it though. Aono gives it a name -Zearth. The whole lot agrees on the name and the robot surfaced itself from underneath the sea.

The battle begins between Takashi of Zearth vs the Praying Mantis (wtf :P ). Zearth walks towards the alien on all fours like a baby and one of the kids commented it is moving lamer than last time( lol..it is indeed). Takashi fires its lasers towards the alien but the attack was deflected by its armor and it hits the nearby mountains. Apparently, ranged attackes does not work on it. The mantis lunges itself towards Zearth and gives it a bear hug while tightening its grip, attempting to crush Zearth. Takashi  starts to panick and whines at the dung beetle. The dung beetle did not give him any hints though, as Takashi is the pilot. As the mantis’s grip tightens, Moji tells Takashi that the mantis has a vunlerable point, an opening nears it joints. Given Takashi’s proficency in soccer, Zearth gave the mantis a few kicks and with its last kick, the mantis breaks into 2 and falls. Takashi wasnt happy yet and steps on the robot in an attempt to find the vital point and crush it. The effects of the alien landing in the sea created a small tsunami and hits the city. The dung beetle asks him to stop as he has crushed the alien’s vital point.

The battle ends and the whole lot gets out of the robot,  Takashi gave a shout of victory! Jun finds it embarassing and nudges him that it is embarassing. To his shock, Takashi goes over the edge and falls down from Zearth and landed into the sea. The rest was shocked and stood rooted. Kana looked at her brother but her brother gave her a slap instead. The rest looked at him in disbelief and the fact that Takashi just fell over was simply too much for the kids. The episode ends while Zearth stood quietly in the sea.

The last moment of the episode caught me by suprise, I never read the manga before so yeah…I am very curious to why Takashi falls over with just a simple nudge by Jun. The battle in this episode was much better. Takashi became the hero behind the scenes ..i wondered if he really died…..
