Hayate no Gotoku! ep05- Unneeded Gags and Kindness Bring Misfortune (不用意なボケと優しさが不幸を呼ぶ )
The best thing to do in a refreshing morning…..sleep.

A mysterious girl sits on a plane and prepares her mission…..Hayate prepares Nagi to go to school but our lovely hikikomori princess prefers the bed instead, what could be better than the bed in the morning (lol). Maria explains to Nagi that being the daughter of the Sanzenin family, she faces dangers everytime she goes out so she is pretty much sick of going outdoors. The phone rings and Maria answers, the call was for Nagi but Nagi just pretended to be answering machine and hangs up the phone and proceeds to go back to sleep. Without realizing, the girl who called her “parachutes” down and breaks a window making quite a grand entrance for our new character in this show, Aizawa Sakuya. Sakuya starts talking as if she is an expected guest and orders Maria to prepare some Earl Grey for her, well..she is served nonetheless, by Nagi though and served to Sakuya’s head and her mission today ? To test out Nagi’s new butler which she was suprised whe it was Hayate.

Sakuya thinks that there is something lacking in Hayate as a comedian (although Nagi insists that he is a butler..but hey! he is a comedian…from our pt of view), she suggests that he should do stunts like being knocked down by car, fighting with robots. It’s the impact that he needs to create but Hayate responded that he had did this in the previous episodes (lol). Sakuya responds by beating him up. .Sakuya even suggested a funny name for Hayate instead which of course was not accepted by Nagi .. (lol)

Hayate was suprised that a butler is expected to be a comedian as well and decides to use his “ultimate” gag ever , the one-time gag to rule them all, Sakuya responds by beating the hell out of him again but yet again, Sakuya is able to entrust Nagi to his care.

The weather got a lil cold and Nagi asks them to get back inside. Nagi wants Maria to prepare some tea for her but Maria mentions the tea leaves had ran out just now on the last cup she prepared. yea.the cup she poured over Sakuya’s head. Maria wants Hayate to run an errand for her to buy the tea leaves as they are expecting a guest, Isumi (Nagi’s friend), before Hayate goes out for his errand, Maria handed him an expensive looking cashmere coat and reminds Hayate not to spoil it for a couple of pieces can settle his debt.

Looks like things arent going smooth for Hayate when he wears that coat, things just need to happen and Hayate was lucky to evade of them. He decided to take the route via the park and while recalling the days that he met Nagi for the first time, he saw a weird looking girl putting in a tailsman into a vending machine (-.-). Unknown to Hayate, that girl is Isumi.

Isumi mentions that she is lost and although Hayate’s instincts told hiim that staying near this girl will mean nothing but danger and true enough, Isumi’s bodyguards appear and thinking that they are kidnappers and the kidnappers thought that Hayate is a kidnapper, Isumi’s bodyguards charged at Hayate with katanas. Hayate grabs Isumi and up he goes..flying between branches..(talk about kungfu !)

Hayate’s luck ran out when he realizes he is above a lake that will…ultimately dirty the cashmere if he falls in, faced with a decision to protect Isumi or the coat, he takes off the cashmere coat and uses it to grab on a nearby branch and with it as a support, he was able to keep both the girl and teh coat dry, sadly, the coat was unable to take the weight of both of them and tears. so..yea..Hayate gets wet again witha a torn coat. Hayate beleives Nagi’s house is the safest place to keep her away from the “kidnappers”. Unknown to Hayate, Isumi has reached her location and at a rush, Hayate needs to go off first (to settle teh coat issue.. lol). So…Hayate is wet…and the kidnappers are after him. Next episode, Hayate combats the kidnappers and fever ! :o

2 more characters introduced in this episode and Hayate is now in a pinch! How will he handle it!? lol…not to forget, the next episode may feature more new characters … lol… Isumi and Nagi are really total opposites… -.-
