Seto no Hanayome ep06 – お嬢さんお手やわらかに

Mawari and Nagasumi were childhood friends and from young, they loved to play cards (i cant rem this name of the game, it is like a traditional game of some sort) and Mawari’s inspiration was to be like her father, to be in the police and bring justice to the public. Back to the current, Nagasumi’s dad peeked in the kitchen and saw the back of a girl preparing breakfast, he recalled the days of when he had with his wife. The girl turned over and it turned out in to be San-chan. Caught in a daze, Nagasumi’s mum gave him the ultimate “treatment” (lol). Nagasumi was too mesmerized by the San-chan in her apron which makes her simply too kawaii.
Nagasumi is relieved that San is able to make friends with classmates while although the boys around are pretty envious of him. Mawari appears and joked around with him which got San pretty curious about the both of them. Later on, the 4 of them had a card game (Nagasumi+San vs Mawari+Saru)
The ever-powerful Mawari in card games was distracted by the closeness of San and Nagasumi and lost her best card which shows something. Mawari likes Nagasumi, the worried Mawari decides to do a little “research” on the relations between teh 3 of them. (-.-)
The frustrated Mawari goes into her “police mode” and goes around the neighborhood “enforcing her society lawfulness” (lol..hell..i duno even know how to describe). She was “traumatised” or rather shocked to see San and Nagasumi coming out of the house together. Nagasumi was being questioned by Mawari on why they are staying together…
Secrets revealed….San’s background, her parents and the fact that their family members are given approval to work in the school got the whole class pretty surprised and wonder what background does San hail from. The class leader trips and the vase of flowers slipped spilling water on San’s legs revealing her ultimate secret – her mermaid form. Nagasumi acted quick though , he covered her with a towel (which i duno where he got it from). However, Mawari spotted the tail but when she lifted her towel, she saw no tail. However, she is still suscipcious of her identity.
Mawari tries to use any method to spill water on San-chan but Nagasumi appeared to protect San. San is aware of that as well.
With all methods failing to spill water on San, Mawari uses her last method – Cats !. Nagasumi finds it stupid but San is indeed afraid. (doh..who would be freaked out by a swarm of cats pouncing at u). Nagasumi got pissed off and gave Mawari a dressing down and threw one of her fave cards to the ground.
Not knowing what to do, Mawari just cried and ran off, without realizing there is a car on the road. Nagasumi dived to save her but San reacted too, using her mermaid powers in the public and toppled the car to prevent the accident. Mawari lost consciousness shortly.
Waking up in the hospital, Nagasumi knows that Mawari is now aware of San’s powers and prepares to tell her the truth but Saru’s appearance and the fact that he was shocked over the car’s malfunction to have saved Mawari’s life made Nagasumi decided to keep the secret as he was able to use that reason to prevent Mawari from knowing the truth. Unfortunately, Nagasumi’s nudge on Saru made the vase of flowers he’s holding to slip. (doh) and water spilled out. This time, Mawari reacted fast and covered San’s legs. She thanked San for saving her life and apologised for what she did. Saru tries to add in on the fact that Mawari likes Nagasumi was hindered by a smacking of the pot of flowers on his face. (lol). All ends well and Maki decides to spare Mawari’s life because of San. (if a human knows of a mermaid’s true identity, either one of them must die)
Pretty nice episode imo, San’s reactions in the card game was “lol” and Mawari as well, little character development in this episode, although it is funny to see San in her “heroine mode” and Mawari in her “policewoman mode” . Next episode is featuring another new character – Luna Edomae. I guess she is San’s childhood friend this time ?
