Bokurano ep05 - Weak ( 弱さ)
The Dung beetle shows its scary side…

Now that they know they are going to die when their life energy is used to move Zearth, the kids are pretty scared and reluctant to continue this game but it seems there is no choice given to them to quit this game either. The dung beetle tells them once a battle starts, they have 48h to finish it else the Earth is doomed for oblivion, the dung battle continued about how good it is to sacrifice own life to save thir fellow people. Daiichi believes in it and Jun asks him to die first since he believes it this way, Maki was angry with him for such words but Kanji tells them that Jun is the exception for his mother died when giving birth to Kana hence the hate from Jun to Kana. Kako gets really emo after hearing all this and back at his own room, he starts to throw tantrums like a spoiled kid, hurling things at the wall and talked back to his mum rudely for he cant accept his death is inevitable. Dung beetle paid him a visit and revealed his desires within his heart, a girl he likes - Chizuru Honda. The dung beetle taunts him if he does not act fast, Chizu will be snatched away her class teacher who is going out with her. The dung beetle starts to talk about her great figure and wondered if Kako had any erotic thoughts on her before, the bettle tells him maybe a visit to Chizu might be at the right time as she maybe changing and naked. Kako gets mad but the dung beetle just tell him that he’s gonna die soon. Kako stopped right and fear overcame him. At Zearth, the dung beetle was talking to an unknown, telling him that he enjoyed those kids in despair. Back to Kako, he was hiding out Chizu’s house.

Chizu came out eventually but she just brushed him off and told him that she is going to her teacher’s house for a stayover. Kako was pretty shocked and asked questions but Chizu just ask him to mind his own business. Chizu reached the teacher’s residence but he wasnt around, Kako told her that her teacher had abandoned him and asked her to go out with him to the aquarium. Chizu cuts his conversation and ask if his classmates know about her affair with his teacher. She teased Kako that when she had sex with her teacher, she was satisfied emotionally. Kako was disgusted by what she said and ran off. As  he ran past her, Chizu seems to be thinking of something (prolly she could be lying on the sex part just to get rid of Kako). A Man In Black appeared shortly and escorted her away telling her that it is related to the monster which appeared lately, obviously refering to Zearth. On a chopper, the kids were there except Kako.

The official began to tell the kids that they are investigating the black thing and asked where Zearth is, Moiji tells him that they are more like pawns and do have total control over Zearth and it was usually the dung bettle who summoned them inside. The official got curious about this “person” and so the kids started calling the name out but to no avail but when Kana calls out the name, the dung bettle appears telling them he cant reject the call of cute girls. The official explained itself that about their investigations on the Zearth but the beetle just laughed that they are like monkeys trying to figure a hi-tech equipment, one of the lieutenants, Seki pointed a gun at dung beetle and demanded to show them where Zearth is. Dung beetle was pretty amused that he dared to point a gun without knowing what powers his enemy have. Without moving, Seki was erased from everyone’s view leaving his hand in the air which dropped to the floor and Seki appeared again. Of course, he was screaming in pain as his hand was literally chopped off. The other lieutentant Tanaka appeased the  dung beetle and hopes to at least observe how this Zearth is like. Appeased, the dung beetle agrees .

Zearth surfaced again and the research team starts to commence its researchs but to no avail, the only thing they could do is just capturing the behemoth at close range. Tanaka was brought in to the interiors of Zearth and communications were cut off as Tanaka was observing and asking questions, the chairs start to move, the next pilot selection commences and it appears to be…Kako. Outside somewhere, Kako realizes the mark of being pilot is on him, he was traumatised and screamed in fear.

Dung beetle possess powers beyond comprehension, pretty scary to see it is able to erase that lieutentant right before everyone and make him appear again and his hand chopped off. There is nothing those kids can do but only death awaits them. Their first obstacle is to overcome that fear in order to ride Zearth and protect the people around them. In this episode, Kako appears to be a very irritating retard and honestly, i hate him more than Kodaka. For Kodaka, the reason for what he became is because of his background but for Kako ? I cant find a reason. The only thing I can say is that he is a brat, a retarded idiot who simply likes a girl and the girl does not like him (prolly).

Jun’s hatred towards Kana is explained in this episode, seems like his mum died due to complications when she gave birth to Kana….well…sounds like the usual soap dramas I see on TV.

Anyway, the next pilot is chosen - Kako Isao. Lets see how he is going to die for death is inevitable…or not.
