Claymore ep08 - 覚醒
The one has awakened…

The battle starts as the 4 Claymores released part of their Yoma powers to fight Teresa, it was too easy for Teresa who did not even need to release her powers. One by one, the Claymores were injured but not dead as Teresa was skilled enough to make them unable to fight but not dead. When Priscilla was the only one left, she was there kneeling to the ground, unable to move as fear gnawed at her. She is afraid of death too. Teresa’s heart soften and left her alone. Teresa asks Clare to pack up and prepares to leave the town.

Priscilla was humiliated or perhaps, she was reminded of her past, of her father’s death and she starts to lose control of herself. Unleashing another level of Yoma powers, Priscilla’s face distorted and chased after Teresa. Outside the city, Priscilla confronted Teresa and another round of battle begins. Priscilla has basically thrown in everything for the purpose of defeating Teresa. She has suprassed levels of control and is now like a monster, attacking with menace and trickery against Priscilla. It’s time to get serious. Teresa unleashed part of her Yoma powers as well.

Teresa was able to deal with Priscilla now with ease, as Priscilla sits on the floor limp with the injuries, Teresa warns her to supress her powers. Earlier on, Teresa had warned her about releasing the levels of Yoma energy, the first will cause eyes to change color while the next level will cause faces to distort, followed by body distortion and lastly…surpassing 80% will turn the Claymore into a monster and unable to supress it anymore. Priscilla heeds no warning as she keeps mumbling her father’s death was due to her ownself. She starts to mutate again, as her physical features is turning into a Yoma. She starts to cry and begs Teresa to save her. Nearby, Irene, Noel and Sophia were too shocked to interfere as the 2 champions battled each other.

Teresa’s heart soften as she approached Priscilla, she tells Priscilla she cant save her but to kill her to end her misery. Priscilla had no choice and so she asked Teresa to kill her while she still has the heart of a human. Teresa gets closer to her and sheathes her power to normal again however… with a quick move, Priscilla grabbed her blade and chopped off Teresa’s hands. Teresa stood there while Priscilla does another quick move and beheads her instantly. Clare and the 3 claymores was literally dumbfounded and too scared to move as Priscilla continues to mutate and powers are overflowing from her. However, the hard facts are there - Teresa is dead and what her enemy is neither a human nor a Yoma.

When Priscilla had finished mutating, her final form was that of a “human-alike” figure with wings on her back and a horn on her head, her voice was no longer slurrish like a Yoma but rather sounds like a human. Irene claimed that she had surpassed the of what is a Yoma and became an Awakened One. Irene moves on to strike her down with her claymore but before she can even touch her, her left arm was gone. Priscilla wondered what happened and jokingly realized that her left arm was with her. She throws it to the ground to return her. Noel and Sophia strikes but Priscilla just raised her hand and her fingers became tendrils that pierced through their bodies and the both of them was dead.

Priscilla moves on swiftly and kills Irene. Now that all the top claymores are dead, Priscilla feels a lil hungry and decides to eat some living humans. She walks towards Clare and obviously, Clare was too scared to move. But she was not dead, Priscilla ignored her presence and spread her wings and flew leaving Clare behind with the other dead bodies. Clare saw Teresa’s head on the ground. Tears were flowing with sadness and she’s struck with the fear from what had happened. Teresa is dead, Clare holds her head and cries.

nooooooooooo!!!!! Teresa is dead !!! damn !!! If only Teresa was not that soft-hearted, she should have dealt at some damage to Priscilla and this fate might have been avoided. The moment when the scene shows Teresa’s head away from her body, I was like “omg” . There is little plot movement in this episode but yet it is the best episode in Claymore so far imo, Priscilla has awakened to something that is much more powerful than a Yoma. She has “awakened” (lol) so who can stop her now since the top ranking claymores are now dead. Prolly this is the reason why Clare becomes a Claymore right? to avenge Teresa? Sigh..I need time to accept the fact that Teresa is now dead and should move on as the next episode will bring us back to the current Clare and Raki arc (if i am not wrong).

Once again, this is truly amazing. I am starting to love Claymore more now.
