sola ep08 – Indelible thoughts (キエナイオモイ)

Yorito sees Matsuri lying in a pool of blood after he stabbed her but the next thing he knows, he realized he was in a classroom. He was dazed and unable to recall the things that had happened yesterday although he have a faint impression that he saw Matsuri. Mana noticed that he was in a daze and approached him and started asking how he was and what he did with Aono yesterday. This triggered Yorito’s memories yesterday and somehow, there is a memory block, he tries to remember hard. He feels feeble and collapses soon after. Mana calls for help and brought Yorito back to his home. Aono opened the door and was shocked to see Yorito, feeble and dazed. Aono thanked her for bringing Yorito back. Mana rushes to grab a towel and a basin of warm water but Aono suggested her to go home instead while she carried Yorito back to his room.
As Mana leaves, Yorito is being put to bed, he is extremely weak. He tells Aono that they should go out on a clear day sometime but Aono doesnt really like it. As Aono leaves, Yorito bids her goodnight. At night, Mana’s friend Sae spotted Matsuri and the girl who was with Mr Mustache (Takeshi). The both of them was walking to some area through a narrow path and it seems like Matsuri is having some problems. She’s still alive but very weak due to the wound.
Matsuri tells Mayuko to go back as she is ok but Mayuko’s concerned about her and couldnt just leave her behind. She figured out that Matsuri is a Yaka as well. The both of them got to know each other when Mayuko was caught outdoors under the bright sun, she was struggling as she was another Yaka as well. The next day, Mana and Koyori visits Yorito as he was absent from school, they were rejected by Aono at the doorsteps. Aono gave a reason that he had a bad cold and shut them out from the house.
Yorito remains dazed and tells Aono that he dreamt of stabbing Matsuri. Aono tells him that it’s because that he missed her and urges him to just forget about her else he will just suffer from the painful memories. Aono leaves the room and starts to cry. At class, Sae shows Mana a photo of Matsuri and the girl that appeared at the restaurant, she realizes that Matsuri is still nearby. She asks her friends to tell the teacher of an excuse while she leaves class. Mana reaches Yorito’s residence and starts to ask for Yorito. Aono answered but again, she refused to let Mana enter. Mana wants to get in and tells him that Matsuri is nearby. Aono refused and starts to get angry when she hears the name Matsuri. Mana insists but was pushed by Aono while they struggled at the door. Aono’s hand came in contact with the sunlight and starts to get burns. Aono screams in pain and retracted her hand away from Mana. Confused and not knowing what had happened, Mana continues pounding on the door.
Meanwhile, Takeshi is searching for Mayuko. Back at Yorito, he starts to have a nightmare of stabbing Matsuri, Matsuri was scary in the dream, her hands were with blood as she reaches for Yorito. Eventually, Matsuri turned into stone and crumbles in front of him. Yorito struggles and screams, Aono tries to restrain him but to no avail. Going crazy, he rips the curtains and sunlight pours in. The light was burning Aono but she managed to get herself out from the light.

Aono apologises to Yorito for dirtying his hands and putting him into the misery that he is now. She tells Yorito she will settle this once and for all and after it ends, they will live together again peacefully. Flashbacks to the past shows Aono and Yorito knew each other and Aono was shocked one day when the house she is living in had collapsed in a storm along with Yorito in it.
Mana sneaked into Yorito’s room and found out that he is not sick, the room was in a mess and Yorito was spacing out, repeating the words that Matsuri is no longer here, Mana gave him a slap on the flace and shows him the photo that Sae had caught on the cellphone. Yorito seems to recover after he saw the photo. Knowing where they are headed to, Yorito cycles to the place with haste along with Mana. At the tram depot, Matsuri and Mayuko rest in one of the trams, Matsuri noticed a presence and checks out but was in for a suprise..
Some paper planes flew towards Matsuri at high speed, on the top of a building, Aono stands and in an aggresive tone, she wants Matsuri dead as she should not appear at all. The episode ends as Aono sends more origami planes towards Matsuri.
The story is going pretty fast now, many questions being answered, we get to know more about Aono’s past and how Matsuri and Mayuko got to know each other. It is for sure Aono had done some mind control over Yorito to hurt Matsuri and wiped off his memories for that. In this episode, Yorito’s loss of Matsuri really got him into such a depressions state. It proves how much Matsuri meant for him while Aono suffers from this relationship. For some reason, although Aono seems older than Yorito (by the past scene)…it seems like she is not her blood-related sister. I wld beleive that Aono is in love with him as well until Matsuri came into the picture.
Aono faces Matsuri and decides to end this once and for all. Next episode is gonna be some battle, Will Matsuri hold herself from Aono’s attacks? or maybe Takeshi, Yorito and Mana will reach in time to stop the both of them. I am sure Mayuko will intervene since she is just nearby and not to mention, she should be active at night as well. It is gonna be shodown between these girls. Origami vs Decaying powers…who shall prevail ? ;) or rather…..which char do u want to win? ;P
Honestly speaking, for some reason, I hoped Mana will be with Yorito instead (lol). I mean ..cmon…she is a normal human and she cared for Yorito. Mana is always there for him, cooking food for him. She deserves something. I really wondered if the end of Sola will feature something for Mana. According to the various sources, there will be dvd exclusive episodes. I hope the last episode for sola tv series will not be some kind of cliffhanger while we wait for the dvd episodes. Or…….maybe….they will talk more about Koyori and Mana…hmmm..possible? ;)
