[Impressions]
A story about a girl from Manhome (Earth) who travels to the planet Aqua and finds herself embraced by the town’s kindness as she trains hard to be an undine and through her course of life in this wonderful town, she met kind people and 2 other undines who became her very close friends. The city, Neo-Venezia is basically remodelled after the city of Venice in Earth with similar culture and adaptations from the city on Earth.
ARIA has 2 seasons for the TV anime series - The Animation and The Natural and also an upcoming OVA later this year, every episode was an enjoyable episode to me, the enchanting experiences by Akari and her fellow undine friends, Aika and Alice. It is filled with warmth and magic. The kind of anime that I loved to watch after a day’s hard work.
It is no suprise that I loved ARIA a lot, people who knew me well will know that I appreciate anime soundtracks a lot and I loved tracks that are soothing or filled with feelings and ARIA is definitely one of those animes. From the first season to now, I am simply in love with all those piano tracks and also the magical instrumentals in the anime. The stories are well told and a the exploration of this mysterious town of Neo Venezia that has cultures closely related to gondolas and others in Venice’s simply an enthralling experience. The seiyuu of ARIA did a good job and filled the characters with emotion in depth.
Artwork wise, it’s a pleasant experience in the anime and the sceneries of the city are very well drawn and it attracted me too. As for my favourite character, It’s Aika, her character has portrayed a kind of “senior” to Akari and Alice, keeping them in check and the regular “embarassing remarks are prohibited 恥ずかしいのせりふ禁止(the jap words are wrong..that is for sure) yet she is weak at times as well and yea…Aika rawks with that short hair :P
