    Claymore - 22

Posted in Claymore at Sep 15th, 2007 by Runningkid /

Thoughts: This episode felt painfully dragged out, although the bits regarding Raki are new to me but how they switched back and forth between the fight at Pieta and Raki made it seem slow. A lot of the beginning was repeats from last episode, also fair a bit of flash back for Raki (Clare kissing scene ^^;). I guess it’s their way of “building” up suspense, nevertheless the action scene was good as usual and the music complimented all the flash backs quite well.

I wonder what Raki actually have in mind, and how he plan on saving Clare. I mean the town is still surrounded by awakened beings, over twenty of them too and I bet the cold weather is making them hungry. Even if he does get into the town, his half a day training with Isley wouldn’t have made him strong enough to save any one. Perhaps he will end up begging Isley to stop, and let them live in exchange for his life or something. But then the clever twists in the manga won’t translate onto the anime at all. May be Raki will even take the role of *Censored* after the battle, in order to “save” Clare. Seriously, I am looking forward to how they will tie this one up together, surprise me Madhouse!

They were pretty careful with the ending and the preview for next week, we can roughly see Clare is still in control but obviously something has changed, wouldn’t it be a surprised if it turned out different from the manga? But I doubt they will change something so awesome. Not many weeks left, I guess everyone is wondering if there is going to be a second season or will they end the series with just one. Preview shows that Jeane may not be dead, may be I can hope Flora is not dead either >.<

I thought I read this review days ago…In any case, yeah this episode was rather ill-paced and the switching back and forth was not well done at all. Raki’s role is rather cloudy at this point. I only bought up to manga vol.10 to support the artist (I know if I read the scanlations I won’t buy anything, but this is so great that I want to support this poor, hard working mangaka). In any case, I think we’re all waiting to see how Clare will be saved from totally awaken and how Raki falls into all this.
      Thanks for reviewing.
