An alternate tale to School Days, Summer Days is based on the same gameplay system as School Days, a fully animated video gameplay as the story advances while you, as Makoto have to make the necessary choices to decide the ending. The heroine of the game is Setsuna and the setting is during one of the summer holidays. Sekai’s down with mumps (aww) and Setsuna had to stand in for her in Radish restaurant. This is when Setsuna and Makoto met each other by the seaside one day near the restaurant and hence forth, their story starts.
Summer Days was plagued with bugs when it was initially released and 0verflow had to release patches as big as 1GB+ and hundreds of megabytes worth. Many problems caused negative feedback to the game and it seems like as if the game is doomed. The company managed to solve most of the bugs in 1.09B and lastly released a ver2 of the game, which the company decided to exchange for people who had bought the game and sent their registration cards in.
The game comes with a Omake disc that contains a flash game. This little flash game is a repeat of the scene where Kotonoha and Sekai is on the bridge. You play as Sekai and you must bash the buttons as fast as you can to push the meter to Kotonoha’s side. If the player’s successful, you will defend Kotonoha’s attack, otherwise killed.

there were simply too many critical bugs, some affecting the gameplay directly and the stability as well.

there are bad endings but not those bloody ones you find in school days. :)
