Ishida Toraji, a binbou (poor) teacher with bills to pay and making ends meet. While it seems that it is the end of him, an encounter with a old friend gives him new life - a wager that will provide him a year of free sushi. What he needs to do is to recruit members into the kendo club, train them up and win his friend’s students.
The first student he met was a pretty short and quiet girl, Tamaki. She is a ungraded kendo prodigy who teaches her dad’s students in the kendo club. Young but a professional in kendo, Tamaki saw a senior kendo practitioner bullying a year1 junior. This was when she decided to join the kendo club and her first match is to beat the ass out of the bully, which will be shown in the next episode.
The entire cast for this anime is simply awesome. We have Houko-san (Clare in Claymore), Katsuyaki (Haji in Blood+), Ryou (Kyou in CLANNAD!!) and not to mention, Ishida Akira is involved too ! The animation quality is definitely top notch and the theme songs were catchy. I am sure it will get more interesting in later episodes with more characters popping out and joining in the fun and hilarity of this sports comedy . and hey! Tamaki is kawaii! :D
