[Overall Summary]
The final answer arc to Higurashi Kai, I am wondering if there might be any extra arc, since starting from ep14 looks a little early. Nevertheless, the first episode of this arc touches on the story about this little cute looking girl, Miyoko and how her childhood was shattered and brought into misery as her parents died in an accident. She was brought into a orphanage where the caretakers are nothing but heartless bastards who ill treats and abuses them (i wonder if such kind of orphanage exist in the past -.- ). The kids were unable to take it and decides to escape but was being found out. The kids start to run in different directions in the forest. Miyoko runs and slips down a cliff, injured.

The scene shifts to the adult ver of Miyoko who inherits a sum of money from a old man, the old man’s reminded of Dr. Takano’s research and the times they have. With the money, Miyoko engages a group of men who seems to hold critical political and militay background and her report to them is the results of a biological research. The men questioned but eventually, Miyoko was given power and also to head the project. The men call her Takano and promotes her to the rank of a Major - Major Takano.

With power, she chooses someone to be her assistant - Dr. Irie Kyosouke to partake in the research project. In addition, Takano’s given support of a special forces as her protection, the Yamainu which is headed by Okinogi. Lastly, the man who will direct and ensure the smooth going of the project, Tomitake.

With all things set in place, their project begins.

The scene shifts back to the young Miyoko again who is now tired and injured. She collapses and recalls memories of her parents. A shuffling sound and the shouting of men jolted her out of the dreams. Feeling cornered, Miyoko rests under a tree and blames the heavens for bringing her the misery and demands happiness back . She challenges the heavens to strike her down. She stands out and calls her out own name - Tanashi Miyoko and challenges again to take her life away. A light flashes and Miyoko is filled with fear.

As the credits end, Takano was jolted out from her sleep It was a nightmare. She gets up and looks at the village from her truck. Soon, Dr Takano’s wish will come true (refering to the real Takano) and she laughs like a maniac. The calm before the storm is about to end.

[Impressions]

Pretty much as usual, the first episode is always a prologue kind of episode which sets everything in place. The mastermind and how the organization came into place  are revealed in this episode. The connection and how Takano is swayed to the evil and dark side. I kinda pity Miyoko (currently, Takano)’s past, it is hard to hate with such kind of fate but yea, her crimes are too heinous to begin with. There are a few changes in Higu Kai OP from this episode onwards, we have a mysterious Hanyuu whose eyes are hollow and red and also towards the end of the OP, Rika’s waving at Hanyuu who is now visible to everyone. The struggle to break the chains of fate for Hinamizawa 1983 begins again !
