[News Updates]
The latest episode of Get Rea! on Channel NewsAsia features on one of the current matters that is ongoing - privacy, and how we are being watched 24/7. I was pretty surprised by the numbers of CCTVs and all the cameras that they revealed.
The most interesting part came up when a interview on a few anime downloaders who was “issued” the letter by Odex and they expressed their views and of course, the outrage.
What’s most important was the point raised by one guy on MP3 players. Good point imo which makes me wonder…
Is it illegal to do a recording of a program on your vcd/hdd recorder and pass it to a friend who was unable to watch it due to various circumstances ?
or perhaps, it is illegal to do even do a recording in the first place. ?
As an analogy to the current anime downloading scenario, downloading of animes which were recorded by sources that isn’t in retail or even available on other foreign channels (outside of japan), it’s illegal ?
I believe the scenario is pretty similar to the above except the fact that everything is digital instead.
What are your thoughts ? Do take note that I am not some law expert so ya, my analogy might be totally wrong in any sense.
and one more thing, it is about time to throw away all those big ub3r sized hdd recorders or mp3 players that you might have and get a cheapo 256MB player, after all, I bet you don’t need such a big space for mp3s bought legally online.

You might as well sue Apple for aiding and abetting in illegal filesharing of music. *eyeroll*
