[News - PS3]
Reuters has an article that the 40GB PS3 will be coming for the US and Sony will cut the price for the highest end model to 500USD (well..I ain’t sure how much it cost in the US). The new 40GB model will retail at 400USD and its official launch is tentatively on the 2nd Nov.
The 40GB PS3 has its own downside as well which is the lack of backward compatibility to play PS2 games, personally it doesn’t matter if it was me as I have a PS2 myself. The previous model of the 20GB PS3 has stopped production some time ago as consumers opted for higher capacity models.
No news for the SEA market, I guess we will have to wait until official news arrive here. :)

Bravo Sony you still don’t get it! Until the price is $299 I WILL NOT GET A PS3. No good games, nothing original and it’s a fucking brick.
I’ll stick with my 360 until Sony comes out with something worth while to play on that black brick of failure.

Backwards compatibility doesn’t concern me either, since I was planning on keeping my PS2 anyway for sentimental reasons.

BTW, the 80GIG PS3 retails for 600USD. Randomly bought it a month or so after its initial release just cause. Makes a great DVD player at least ^^;;

Until consoles feature VGA/DVI-out, I won’t buy any of them. I’m not paying $600 per year TV-licence just because I happen to have a TV-set for a console.

there are vga cables for these consoles now.
