    Episode 25 (spoiler):

    For some reason I didn’t quite like the pacing of the episode and in a way I thought a few things were a bit forced. Despite that, the episode was still enjoyable due to the brilliant music as well as a few twists here and there.

    Perhaps it’s because it was ages since I saw episode 24, but when Nadie had to shoot Ellis I didn’t feel as much emotional impact that I had been expecting, especially after the amount of weeks spent watching Ellis’ and Nadie’s relationship develop. I have to say though, the build up to that scene was not particularly impressive either, in fact I was rather disappointed by Rosenberg. He knew very well that Ellis will be arriving and he couldn’t set up a better trap.

    One of the “twist”/surprise was when Rosenberg revealed that his real reason was because he loved Ellis and not because of revenge. I found this hardly convincing since I had always thought the scenes with Melissa meant something and may even influence Rosenberg’s master plan. Guess I was wrong. Still, I am sure I enjoyed the episode a lot more than I am making it sound.

    Episode 26(Spoiler):

    As an ending, this episode gives the series a feel of completion. Sure, thats what endings are suppose to do but this does it exceedingly well. It really feel as though the story has gone a full circle, where Nadie and Ellis return to road to continue their adventure. Despite the fact that through out the whole series they were searching for an answer so their journey would finish, but in the end traveling was something they desired. I found that especially sweet because both Nadie and Ellis were being reserved about what they truly want, thinking that having a nice easy life was what will bring the other happiness.

    Just when I had forgotten about Amigo Tacos, they just had to bring it back! In that sense it’s quite cheesy, but it does provide an opportunity to see what became of the other characters. Blue Eyes is now the manager of Amigo Tacos for that area, along with her Rosenberg lookalike subordinate. Blue Eyes, Drools~.

    Lirio and Ricardo continues to travel as before, although I would have loved to learn a little bit more about them since virtually nothing was revealed about their past. May be I can hope for an OVA or something. So, as the final episode of the series it definitely does a decent job at concluding everything. Same as episode 25, the sound track was superb which complemented the animation well.

    Over View: El Cazador de la Bruja is series that spends an unusual amount of episodes onto character developments. More specifically between Nadie and Ellis, no one else. This really does work quite well, however this was at the expense of the plot. In terms of story, El Cazador is not mind blowing but since there is always this sense of mystery around Ellis, it’s interesting enough to get you hooked.

    The story revolves around Nadie and Ellis traveling together and later on getting caught up between organizations, which sounds very exciting, but in fact what El Cazador really lacks is action. Most of the time there will be a few gun shots here and there but hardly exciting. It’s a little like what I’ve said about Pumpkin Scissors, the series isn’t really about action but rather the ideas behind it. So instead of War relief like PS, this time it’s developments between Nadie and Ellis. Perhaps even going as far as the theme of growing up.Other characters are also very hot interesting too, but unfortunately by the end some questions regarding them were still left unanswered, which is a lot of wasted potential.

    Because of how the plot suffered due to the large proportion of episodes spent on character developments, the pacing was rather inconsistent too. This was mainly in the second half, where it began slowly, then there were two or three episodes where the story really picked up. Then a few more episodes to affirm Nadie and Ellis relationship followed by the climax and finally the ending. I found this was not necessarily a bad thing since that short burst of story telling gave me a taste of how the climax will be like.

    Admittedly the animation isn’t the best, but at least it was consistent. A few episodes exceeded my expectations, especially the one regarding the professor and Ellis’ past. Of course this was largely because of the sound track as well.

      Heck! you forgot to mention the gay people from the first episodes, hahahahaha! Now the scenes of episode 26 showing them with their new appareance was in my opinion the main reason to got this series 26 episodes and not 25, if El Cazador got one thing far superior to the other works of the Girls-with-guns trilogy is its comical situations =D

      And now, lets send a mail to Bee-Train asking them to make an OVA with lots of action, shoots, showdowns and that freaking strange guy with the mask and the cat, oh, and please, this time put as scenary a major capital city of Latinoamerica and not a town in the middle of nothing.
