[Summary]
Hinamori Amu has been appointed as the Joker of the Guardians. Not knowing her role in the Guardians, she questions the other guardians on what her duties are. The Joker, which is a trump card, is responsible for only his/her own problems and also to look out for X eggs and X Charas(This will be shown later on.). Noticing that the accessory she holds, the Humpty Lock, she asks if there is a key or it. But unfortunately the Guardians said they have no idea as the Founding King of the Shugo Chara told them to pass the Humpty Lock to the person with 3 eggs.
Back at home, we are presented with Amu’s younger sister, Ami’s singing talents. After taking a bath, Amu takes a drink at the balcony of her home; this is when Ikuto suddenly appeared right infront of her from the roof. He then hands her a bag of tibits and says that the tibits are for him breaking the fruit tart in the earlier episode. After a short conversation, he then asks Amu to turn her ear towards him, making her blush, thinking that he’s going to kiss her. But instead, he bites her ear gently and teases her, which made Amu angry. He then warns her not to search for the embryo and then makes his move.
The next day in school, Kukai gives Amu training to prepare herself to become a Joker. She then questions him on the need of the training and he stops, causing Amu to run into his arms. While Kukai is explaining the duties of the Joker to Amu, Amu’s classmates pass by and talk about how different their character is compared to Amu, saying that she had become friendly with the Guardians very quickly. This then we see the villian from the previous episode, which will be revealed later.
The focus is actually on Amu’s classmate, Yuki, who is moving to America soon due to her father’s work. This causes her to feel sad as she is leaving her friends soon, causing her egg to turn dark. The next day, rumors about Kukai being in love with Amu is spreaded in school. Amu then tears down the notice and throws is away, leaving her school mates to say how cool she is. As she enters her classroom, she overhear a conversation between Yuki and her classmates, this is when Yuki’s egg turned into an X egg, changing her personality, causing her to rant at her friends and run out off the classroom.
Amu then chases after her, but then she goes the wrong way and stumbles on a abandoned observatory. As she is afraid of entering the observatory, Ran offers to Chara Change so that she would be able to have the courage to enter the old building. But then Amu says that she has so many different facades that she is unable to find her true self, saying that changing is scary, causing the Guardians to be worried. The door opens as Amu is leaning on it, revealing a very beautiful roof which changes from day to night on it’s own. The Guardians chases after Yuki, only to find her X egg hatch, revealing an X Character, which attacks the guardian and escapes.
The X chara finds it’s way into the observatory, asking if Amu likes licorice, being poor in English, Amu replies with “I am joker?” The X chara then attacks Amu, causing her to hide and wonder if her English is that bad. Kukai and Hotori follows and asks Amu to Chara Transform to save Yuki. After hesitating for a bit and thinking about what she said and Yuki’s thoughts, she transforms and tries to catch X chara. She then proceeds to cleanse the X chara, revealing a cute stewardess, Yuki’s true would-be self. As everything is fine, Yuki wakes up and everyone proceeds to class. Nikaidou Yuu, Amu’s temporary homeroom teacher introduces himself as her homeroom teacher is on leave. Amu then enters the classroom and trips over the teacher’s platform and falls. The episode end with a man holding Joker card in the observatory, saying that “the person with 3 guardian eggs” has finally appeared.
[Impression]
This episodes actually talks about what happens when an X egg is not sealed, and also to showcase more of Amu’s power and her weakness. Basically the episode is okay, the singing by Ami is really cute, and watching Amu sitting on the floor ranting at Ikuto is kinda cute too. Somehow, I am starting to love Shugo Chara’s sound effect more, but then like the X egg, the X chara is really irritating. Especially with that weird voice saying “Do you like english? I hate english!”, it practically stung my ear drums.

Amu’s homeroom teacher, Nikaidou Yuu is the villain behind the emerge of the x-egg in episode 2 and the x-chara in this episode. Apparently, he is working for Easter Egg Company, which is a company that Ikuto is working for, looking for the embryo. The man at the end of the episode, I believe is the Founding King of Shugo Chara.
