It’s official, the release date for the Blu-ray disc box (Limited Edition) for Utawarerumono will be out on the 23rd Jan 2008 at a price of 52,500 yen (exclude shipping).

The Blu-ray disc set will contains 4 volumes of dual layered (50GB each) BD-roms that spans the entire 26 episodes of the anime and the special exclusives found. So, what is so special about this blu-ray disc box ??

Video: All videos will be in 16:9 apsect at 1080i resolution. The special videos (映像特典) will be in 1080i and 480i
Audio: Japanese Language Linear PCM + English Dolby Digital 5.1ch, specials will be in Linear PCM
ENGLISH SUBTITLES INCLUDED. (Switchable off and on)

The exclusives (not the videos) that comes with the blu-ray box will be

1. a 76page artbook?
2. the artwork designs of the DVD jackets. (8volumes)
3. A collector’s box ?

Well, unfortunately, it isn’t in 1080p but anyway, this is not a upscale ver as previously reported. It seems like they remastered the anime episodes for full HD 1080i quality and included the English subtitles with it. That is the attractive factor here although we won’t know how accurate those subs are. Damn..this is pretty tempting.. ;)

Pls do note that you need a HDTV to get to enjoy the full 1920×1080 resolution
