The devil’s offer
[祭囃し編, Festival Accompanying Chapter]
and so, the devil began her offer.

[Overall Summary]
The scene shows a flashback of a kid who pushes her parents off the cliff, that girl was Satoko and she appears possessed. The scene shifts back to Takano and Dr Irie, Satoko was confirmed with the terminal stage of Level 5, the codename for the Hinamizawa infection. However, Satoko did not scratch her throat like others but her mind was pretty much unstable. The sick Takano prepared a schedule for Irie - a schedule to dissect Satoko. (wtf!)
At night, Irie engages with Rika’s dad and asks for his favor. Rika’s dad explained further to his family later on about the Hinamizawa Syndrome, its similarity to Oyashiro-sama’s curse and a lil more about syndrome’s origin and cause. Apparently, the syndrome is caused by a parasite and among the parasites, there is a mother existance which the Furude family bloodline inherits and Irie’s favor is to ask for Rika to be part of his research (bastard Irie)
Rika decided in the end though all because of Satoko, however, time is running out for Satoko and during one of the tests, Rika asks Irie about the progress and out of a sudden spoke in a serious tone about her contributions and the reason is for Satoko. The sudden change in Rika scares Irie somehow.
At a conference, Takano explains her findings to the board of directors in charge of the Hinamizawa research. The bastards have confirmed an approval to run a simulation on Hinamizawa (damn bastards!) and discussed on the emergency suppression if something went wrong. Takano smiles for she believes that research finally bear its fruits.
Back to Satoko, the administration of the experimental cure seems to work fine but Takano doesn’t seem happy at all. Oishi talks to himself aloud as why Satoko might kill her parents. Irie knows this is neither an accident or an incident but rather the reaction caused by the Hinamizawa Syndrome. The reaction that is triggered by the amount of trauma and stress in the mind.
Back to the clinic, Rika’s mum demands to have her daughter back. Despite the persuasion, it did not work out either as Rika’s dad gave them 3 months to complete their research. Cornered like a mad beast, Takano thought of the most insane plan ever to overcome this problem - to simulate a Oyashiro’s curse killing scenario.
Rika’s dad was posioned while her mum was murdered and the impression that it was a suicide. To add on that, a note was given to make it look like it was due to the Oyashiro’s curse.
A phone rang and news of Koizumi’s death was known to Takano. With his death, the Hinamizawa’s Research broke down as the board believed that their research has fulfilled their aims. First, to identify the pathogen and a treatment (which Irie had managed to develop experimental drugs) and next is to use it for military purposes. As bio warfare wasn’t allowed, the latter was cancelled.
Takano couldn’t believe the news and to add on the trauma, the board mocked at her research as “dramatizing”, a decision was passed down - to finalize everything within 3 years and close down.
As Takano walks on the street alone, a car stopped by and offered her a ride. In the car, a devious looking woman offered her a pact to work together. Without hesitation, Takano accepted.

[Impressions]
I have to say this episode will need to take some time to digest after watching it, lots of perspectives to look at and I can’t imagine Takano offering Irie that schedule to dissect Satoko even though she is not dead yet! There is no doubt that Takano will reach her peak of insanity to carry out various mad deeds after accepting the offer from the mysterious lady. Irie wil be forced with a decision soon. It will be a matter of time before the episodes will converge on Hanyuu’s efforts and Takano’s acts of the devil!
auauau~!
