Its the Holiday’s Finally and I have opened my PlayStation 3 (60 GB version) despite the xbox 360 outselling the PS3. The console was acquired some time back at a game show in SG with 2 free games (Gundam Musou and Virtual Fighter 5) in addition to the 2 games I got FolkSouls (FolkLore), Ridge Racer 7 and Ghost Recon 2.
Here is my setup and a video of the console running Riiiiidge Racer 7. I will make another video surfing my site on my PS3.

So what made me decided to get the console? Mostly I wanted to get to play MGS4 and other new games from various Japanese Developers.
Bad
- Not much games (More in 2008)
- Asia SG/HK Store Playstation Store not as much content as the Japan store
- High Price point (Now I can’t getting a X360 or Wii yet)
- Not many online Games (I could be wrong as I don’t play online games on consoles)
- Some games (Asia Version) only have Japanese Language (XBOX SG makes an effort to put Eng and Chinese subtitles / Audio in their published games)
Good
- All technology in a box 60GB (Blu-Ray, Wireless, HDD etc. value for money deal!!!)
- Free Multiplayer online
- The Familar Playstation Controller
- Good lineup of games
- PS1 Downloadable games
- PS1-PS2 backwards compatability (Highend version 60GB)
- Lots of Game Demos on PS Store (despite not much Content)
- Good lineup of Experimental PS Store games for download
- PS Store uses real money transactions not Point Systems like X360
Misc / Neither Good or Bad
- Some games would look good on the HDTV but PS3 supports all resolutions and the graphics like VF5 and RR7 look extremely sharp and if not better than their X360 counter-parts.
- the USB cable is a bit short but its mostly used for charging the wireless controller.
Recently Playstation has launched the 40GB version I strongly advise readers to stay away from this versions as it lacks the PS1-PS2 backwards compatability. Also you will want to get a PS Store account for different regions like JP and Asia
