[Summary]
As the rest of the guardians have things to attend to, Yaya have no choice but to ask Amu to join her to eat ice-cream. But then they went to a dance studio instead, where Yaya practices for a ballet dance performance. The instructor was interested in Amu to join the group, but then Ran takes over her and made her do a crazy ballet dance which left everyone else stunned. After being tired out, Amu grabs Ran and gives her a lecture.
Yaya’s teammate for the performance, Maika, then makes an appearance. Amu comments that she gives off bad vibes after she asked everyone to clear the dance studio so that she can practice. Yaya then explains that she is the prima(the lead dancer) for the ballet dance performance. When practice commenced, Amu commented that Yaya was doing well, but Maika says that she’s making a lot of mistakes and then joins the practice as the prima, impressing Amu and her Chara Guardians with her graceful dance.
But during the practice, Maika falls down and tore her foot ligament, causing her to be unable to participate in the ballet dance performance and the instructor gets Yaya to takeover her row as a prima, leaving Maika in despair. The next day, the guardians commented on Yaya being the prima, with Kukai saying if Yaya’s role is a tree or a rock in the performance. We then see Maika being discharged from a hospital, walking on crutches, but falls down. She then tell herself it’s useless to continue practicing and as Nikaido walks past, her egg becomes clouded
The next day Amu stumble upon that mysterious school building in episode 04 once again. But this time, a man who looks a lot like Tadase serves her tea and talks to her. Later Amu and Yaya goes to the dance studio and Maiko’s mother appears and asks Yaya to try out the prima’s dress. After a long practice where Yaya falls down a couple of time as she tries hard to meet her instructor’s standards, the instructor asks Maiko to help Yaya practice.
As Maiko tries to leave the room, Amu stops her and tries to cheer her up. This is when Maiko’s egg turns into an X Chara egg, revealing a X chara dolled up in a ballet dress. This time, Amu performs character transformation with Miki, giving her a costume that looks similiar to one of those worn by Cardcaptor Sakura. Amu then cleanse the X chara, revealing a cute little ballet dancer who shares the same dream as Maiko as becoming a famous prima. The performance was a success and Maiko praises Yaya for doing well for the performance.
[Impressions]
The sound effects for this episode blasted me away.(Maybe that’s because I finally managed to configure my surround speakers correctly this time?) The transformation of Amu and Miki really reminded me of CCS. Especially the costume and the way how Miki summons the gaint brush which Amu uses as a magical wand. And somehow in this episode the X chara sounds good. This episode also shows the interaction between Ikuto and Nikaido, two of the villains in the story.
