The tragic story of Rin’s mother.

[Summary]

The episode starts with Reiji talking about his childhood and how his father was an alcoholic how he would beat his mother and soon started beating him. He then realizied that his mom took the crap because of him, or so he though when he began to get beat she never came to the rescue.

He felt weak and scared and hated his father for the way he was and hated his mother for not standing up for him or leaving such a terrible man. He wished they would just die. Well as fate had it both died in an auto accident during the funeral many family members saw that he shed no tears for the loss of his parents.

Reiji is sent to his aunt’s house he depressed and sad about everything still. He locks himself in his room, one night as he is crying a young Rin enters the room to comfort him, Reiji quickly over comes his depression and finds happiness in Rin.

During a night with her mother he asks why she is single and Rin has no father, she says that Rin was suppose to be aborted but she couldn’t do that and ran away to Tokyo. Reiji said that he would be the man in her and Rins life now.

Shortly there after they become lovers Reiji quickly finished high school and got an accounting job to help with the bills. Now long after that she gets sick. Aki finds out that she has lung cancer and that’s it’s almost incurable without a large sum of money.

Aki discusses this with Reiji while in the hospital, Reiji makes it his goal to give her the money and is angry at her for not letting him no until it was too late, they hide this from Rin meanwhile Reiji tries to compose himself at home and do his everyday duties.

Finally after being in the hospital for many months with death near Aki goes home, Rin knowing she is gravyly sick makes paper crane after paper crane thinking that this will make her better. On the night that Aki dies Rin is making crane after crane and placing them around her body. Aki leaves a note that says “Sorry for dying”

Reiji says that Rin is very special too him and that he will continue to look after her and that if anyone hurts her that they will be sorry. He thinks of Rin as his daughter.

[Impression]

I though this was a great episode and it was sometimes tough to watch now we know more about Rin and her past and what Reiji really means to her and how he came to be with her.

The one thing is weird why is it in anime cousins are always getting it on or having feelings for each other I just don’t get it if someone could help me out on that one that would be great.

I also have a feeling that a lot of the info we learned in this episode will have an impact on the future episodes.
