Oh how it was only 4 or 5 months ago that GSG would be getting a brand new season! Personally I own the box set and have used this anime to help get people on the fence about anime to watch this and show them it’s not pokemon.
If the screen caps are bad it’s from the source, whatever group did them did a terrible job at encoding and the text was just hard to read so excuse me if I don’t touch on everything or take something out of context. So the new season is here what has changed? The girls and handlers are both older and they’ve all been upgraded in the gun department.
So this first episode concentrates on getting the viewer back in with the storyline of Gunslinger Girl. Henryeta once again says what the social welfare service is. What hasn’t changed is the story outline, usually it was introduction, plot setup, high action scene involving the girls killing goons, main story plot and ending.
That part didn’t change. The episode starts with Jose in france he is looking for a gift for Heneryeta the shop keep has something special for her that she will love. Meanwhile , activists are bitching about something going on and the police in riot gear are facing them down. The girls are stationed on look out just in case anything goes down.
After all the rioting is done and people are arrested a bomb goes off. A police men takes off running into a waiting van. Heneryeta and Jose must go after them, another people from the social welfare agency shows up on her Vespa to which Jose takes. This leads the two on a high speed chase though the city van versus Vespa. Eventually they leave the city and the guns comes out. Trilella and Rico are waiting for the van to come to their location.
Finally Trilella takes cares of bussiness shooting a few badies and who didn’t get killed are arrested and that’s about it we don’t find out what happens to them. So now that you’ve got your action out of the way the main plot of the episode, Heneryeta loves Jose and get so enamered with him that she even breaks into his room and lays down with a shirtjust to be “close to him”.
More happens but I’m not spoiling anymore :)
[Impression]
I was finally happy to get a subbed version of the show as it’s been out for several days in it’s raw format. The encoding was terrible and the text was terrible so didn’t make for a fun viewing session to say the least. Anyway I think this whole love thing could be a big deal and I hope they find a decent unerlying storyline because each episode becomes predictable.
The girls being older makes for a nice touch I wasn’t expecting them to be older and the gun upgrades are always nice too. The show could still be good but its too hard to say whats going on in just one episode.
