While we can’t know for sure what’s going on, I think most of the signals point towards some sort of licensing snafu.

I wouldn’t call this business as usual, but whether it’s something to panic about, well, we’ll find that out once ADV finally makes a final announcement on the matter I guess.

Kanon? Lagann? NHK? ADV’s dropping all of their potentially big money makers… What’s the reason for the drops?

I don't think we can say they are dropped. There are several pieces to this puzzle, all of which I've tried to put together in a post I just made on my blog I think the only thing we can say at this point is that we have no idea, fully, what's going on.

…I’m mystified as to why they dropped Sergeant Frog though. Isn’t that like shooting your best cow in the udder?
