Well, to begin with, I didn’t have much time and oOgA-sama advised a overall review of the series would be better, so here it is :)

Romantic daiyo >.<
Nodame Cantabile is about music and the lives of Chiaki and Nodame as they cross hurdles in their lives together :) Along the way they meet Mine, Masumi, Stresseman and many other characters, all interesting in their own right.
I found the show ever interesting and a very refreshing change from many other animes out there in terms of character design ( especially their faces ) and the way it keeps you totally engaged in it. I found myself wanting to watch the next episode again and again and it was the first time I forced myself to watch the entire series up to the last episode ( 23rd ). By then it was already 5AM in the morning.
There were PLENTY of comical and classical moments that had me laughing throughout as well ( one part had me literally rolling on the floor and crying because it was just too funny ) and I was throughly entertained :D In addition, I rather liked the voice acting from Tomakazu Seki and Ayako Kawasumi.
A point to note however, there were parts where the comments made by the professional critics were slightly annoying as I was engrossed in the music and “poof” here comes someone talking ( just like people talking in the midst of a movie ).
Episode 10 was a great point I took off…Nodame in that suit had me in cuddly mode because it was sooo cute ^^. Chiaki’s imouto, Yuiko, is 萌え too !
As I progressed along the Anime…I found myself noticing several lessons in life the show tries to tell us…which I thought was brought across to the audience slowly and pleasantly…
Sorry about the comment that the repeated and stagnant frames were a bad point, I recently found out that it was due to a very limited budget the producers of the show had…so I can’t really blame the animators…
The art was clean throughout little or no discrepancies and I liked that fact…
On the low side, we have the focus of the Anime on the comical aspects and not so much on the orchestra ( the piano does get a fair bit of scenes animated compared to the orchestras ).
Personally, I tend to develop an attachment for something I see first, in this case, the Anime first and the Live-Action Drama second…so I may come across a little biased here hehe…
During the last 5-10 episodes the series didn’t come across as exciting as the first 10 ( there were 1-2 piano pieces which I thought were rather boring [ probably its because I only play Anime OSTs for the piano and therefore, not so interested in classical piano as compared to the orchestra ] ) and there were fewer funny moments :( Another point I thought could have been so much better was the fact that whether Chiaki or Stresseman conducting, the playing sounds 99% similiar and I had to listen VERY VERY closely to tell the difference…
On the otherhand, I thought the last episode was very touching and well made and I kind of envied Nodame…
I can’t wait to see the Paris section but I doubt it will ever get produced :(
Still, it was impressive they managed to produce this Anime with a limited budget and could potentially have been so much better if not for financial constraints…
Well…I still hope all of you enjoyed the show :D
