[Summary]

It’s New Year and the Hinamori family is getting into the mood! After receiving New Year Envelopes from her father, Amu and the Guardians go to the shrine for some prayers. A few days later, the Guardians go on a school excursion trip to a ski resort to learn how to snowboard, taught by Japan’s top snowboarder, Mifuyu Tori, who’s only 11 years old. As the students from Seiyo Elementry pick up snowboarding, Mifuyu gets to know Amu better.

What’s wrong?

Later, before a preliminary snowboarding competition, Mifuyu runs off somewhere to calm down, only to find a weird egg. Amu rushes over in time to explain about Shugo Chara’s, and the egg hatches, revealing Snoppe, Mifuyu’s Shugo Chara. Snoppe helps Mifuyu to calm down, allowing her to pass the preliminary rounds. Later at night the Guardians and Mifuyu celebrate her success at their resort before she goes for another round of practice.

The next morning, as Mifuyu leaves her resort to prepare for the finals, Nikaido speaks to her, causing her heart to weaver. Before the competition she gets too nervous and Snoppe returns to her egg form. Nikaido then picks up the egg and leave, causing the egg to turn into an X-egg in his hand. The Guardians then sense something is weird and goes to search for Snoppe. On their way they run into Amu’s admirer from episode 1, and he gives them a lead to a cabin leading to Nikaido. Nikaido was trying an experiment to create the embryo instead of searching for it.

The Guardians then make their way to the cabin, only to find Mifuyu’s X-egg hatch to an X-character that shoots black coloured snow. After a fight, Amu manages to cleanse it, returning the X-character back into Snoppe, who makes her way back to Mifuyu, who’s unconsious in her hotel room. Mifuyu makes it in time for the competition, emerging as the champion, given a chance to represent Japan in an international snowboarding competition.

Champion!!!

The Guardians and Mifuyu bid farewell, promising to meet up again in the future as the bus leaves the ski resort.

I feel tired…let’s take a nap….

[Impressions]

Wow. This episode has a totally different atmosphere compared the previous episodes. There’s this nice part where Mifuyu and the Guardians bond, the Guardians rushing to save Mifuyu and farewell. Although the farewell almost made me shed a tear but this episode actually made me notice many things.

First, if you noticed, when Amu uses her “Tamago no Kokoro, Unlock!” skill, you will notice the Humpty Lock glows in 4 different colours; Pink, Blue, Green and Yellow. If the colours correspond to the colours of the Shugo Chara’s, it means that there’s still one more Shugo Chara in Amu’s heart. For those who read the manga, you guys would probably know, but I will leave it to the anime fans’ imagination.

Next, more and more things about X-eggs and X-characters are linked to Nikaido, which the Guardians have noticed. But how will Nikaido’s arc end? That we will have to see.
