The nuclear option gets pressed as a shocking truth is revealed!

Thanks to Hinata’s intervention, Hayami is slowly being accepted by the class. While it seems a little fast to me, I won’t rule out the possiblilty that many days may have passed since the last episode (kinda like how no one is surprised by Hirose being able to see from ep 1 to 2). However, it seems something is still bothering Hinata. I wonder what is it?
What it is, is essentially the fact that Hinata is in fact Hotaru!!! OMG OMG OMFG!!!
Okay, to be honest, I think most of us would have seen that coming for some time. However, I don’t think it lessens the bombshell anyhow. So now, Hotaru is Hinata, Otoha is not Hotaru but Hinata, who is dead, and Hotaru is not dead. Does that clear things up? lol.

So it seems that Hinata Hotaru has been living a lie of a life ever since the real Hinata drowned. Hinata has always been more extroverted and charming compared to Hotaru and thus is the apple of the old man’s eye. The drowning of Hinata (indirectly
caused by Hotaru though not intentionally). however. seems to have hit him hard. Wanting to keep up appearances and save the family reputation (and possibly trying to retrieve what was irrevocably lost to him), he uses Hotaru’s guilt to force her to “become” Hinata.

We also find out the reason why Otoha (or Hinata) calls Hirose the “Promised One”. Hinata is apparently existing as the spiritual embodiment of Hotaru’s unfinished story.
Looks like Otoha’s objective is to free Hotaru from the evil machinations of the old man. Or at least to save Hotaru from the current lie she lives. Which succeeds as Otoha’s words, through the letter from Hayami, reaches her and provides her with enough courage to go against the old man and declare to her friends her true name.

Are we back in the stone age? O.o
And I was right, the old man did do something drastic when Hotaru told him she didn’t want to act as Hinata anymore. Though I think this is hardly the worst he can do. He’ll probably go Bankai when he finds out what Hotaru did.
[Overall Impressions]

It must be pretty traumatising to be told you have “died” at such a young age. The old man is such an ass****. Maybe I’m out of the loop here, but I still don’t see how losing the eldest daughter of the family would lead to the fall of the whole Kagura family. Anyone care to explain?
I feel pretty sorry for Hotaru having to live this lie all this time. All her life she has lived like another person and has never had a chance to be herself. And all her friends who support her like Hayami and the others are unwittingly a constant reminder of her guilt. No doubt this is the reason why Hinata’s spirit came back in the form of Otoha.
However, do I find the speed which everyone accepted Hotaru’s confession startlingly fast.
Anyway, as the pieces fall into place one by one, the stories behind each character are slowly revealed. We now know why Hayami was so hated, the truth behind Hinata/Hotaru’s identity, and also the origin of Otoha. However, Hirose’s background is still left unsaid. Furthermore, the next episode is titled [Otoha], which means there is probably more to say regarding her.
At episode 7 and almost two thirds into the show, I’d say the show is doing pretty well thus far. They have 5 episodes left to wrap things up, which is more than enough to do a proper job of it. I’m keeping an eye on True Tears too. Noe is love <3. Somehow, she reminds me of Suzumiya Haruhi. Just abit ^^.
Also, Hamaji does it again.

Isn’t it okay to touch Hirose?

Maybe she/he uses push up bras?
And she/he doesn’t wear them when wearing yukatas lol?

Its still hilarious that the writers give Hamaji boobs while in school uniform and casual clothes.
