    Magical Girl Otoha!

Fanservice, Chibi characters, Mahou Shoujou and complete nonsense. H2O takes a complete turn for the weird as Hirose wakes up to find his world completely out of whack.

Hirose wakes up one day to find the following:-

-Hayami and Hotaru are his younger sisters
-His uncle is actually a hunky trap
-Otoha is his fiancee AND a magical girl complete with her own opening song and transformation scene
-Yui is an evil egoistical witch with powers of agricultural manipulation

    Screencaps below.

    So cute

    [Overall Impressions]

    H2O -4

Okay relax. The whole thing is a dream Otoha showed Hirose as her idea of cheering him up or rewarding him. Although how subjecting someone to so much stress can do so is beyond me. Although the preview for episode 7 did clue us in, I never expected this.

Suffice to say, I was pretty much too stunned for a good 15 minutes (that’s 75% of the show…) to even press the “pause” button and ponder if I was still watching a drama anime and not some generic fanservice/mahou shoujou/shounen anime. I just sat there with my mouth gaping so wide you could probably fly the Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann in if you tried.

    I will miss you…

So as per Hotaru’s story, Otoha finally leaves. But not before treating Hirose to that aforementioned messed up world and giving some parting words of encouragement.

I suppose this closes the chapter on Hinata/Otoha. However, I’m still wondering about 2 still residing issues.

    1) What? Hirose is keeping his sight?
    2) Is the saga with Hotaru’s grandfather over already?

How/Whether these questions are answered will make a lot of difference. I’m leaning towards True Tears for now for Drama of the season. I feel that the problem with H2O is that it doesn’t take itself seriously enough.
