MGS4 Blu-Ray Not Enough

MGS4 on DVDs

Kojima : I am not satisfied with the quality yet, however…there isn’t enough space.
Interviewer: Not enough space..on..Blu-ray..?
Kojima: Yes.(laughs). Not enough space.

Kojima in the latest Famitsu interview casually remarks that Metal Gear Solid 4 [MGS4] is unable to fit onto a single Dual Layered Blu-Ray Disc without the programmers doing some compression to the certain parts of the game data. Also the game will not have all the vocal tracks for US and ASIA release. Some of the comments on N4G are kind of ridiculous these gamers do not know what its like to do data wrangling on media files.

From N4G:
if 50 gigs is too little then either they are bad at compression or the game is full of cut sceens and their will be 5 hrs of gameplay . Theres no reason for a game like this to use up all 50 gigs.It looks nice but not 50 gigs nice.

Well if they know Metal Gear Solid Game Kojima explicitly uses 3D Realtime Game Cutscenes. One major culprit of using most of the BD space is the Game Audio. Which I believe is HD Surround Sound. Kojima Hideo is pushing the boundries of uncompressed HD quality images and Audio for his final Game in the MGS series.

So it’s too expensive to release the game on two discs?

Lol, why is everyone surprised at Kojima using the full capabilities of a system?

Being a fan of MGS and Kojima, I’m still wondering why the game won’t use a billion of Blu-Ray disks, as I was expecting the game to be insanely big.
