Fumika meets Fumika as Shigofumi goes on a little side trip as we take a break from the main storyline.

This episode, we follow Hibiya Takehiko, a game graphics designer/otaku who discovers he is stricken with the final stages of appendix cancer. Overwhelmed with despair, he quits his job and falls into depression.
However, Fumika (not our loli postmangirl) brightens his life with her innocence and cheerfulness and reminds him once again why he chose to become a game graphics designer.

Sadly, he realises that only moments before he sacrificed himself to save Fumika from getting hit by a vehicle.

[Overall Impressions]

Begin medical tibit
Cancer of the appendix is an uncommon disease that is rarely suspected rarely before surgery. Although several case series of these tumors have been published, little research has been anchored in population-based data on cancer of the appendix.

I guess this episode’s message is to live life to the fullest, come what may. You never know when something might hit you. And if it does, can you look back with no regrets?
As usual, we are given another peek at society, this time about social image and the predjudice and misconceptions attached to it. I’m sure there are plently of those in wherever you are reading this from so I won’t want to go too into this.
There was a moment where I thought Takehiko was going to commit suicide and take Fumika with him. Luckily he didn’t.

Seeing little Fumika realise that life was not a game was a little heart wrenching. Especially the part where she kept resetting her handheld console.

Next episode looks to be interesting as we have this…

Next episode, [Awakening]. What will Fumika’s awakening bring?
