    CLANNAD - 22, Two Shadows

‘Family’, the main theme of Clannad…

    CLANNAD -22,

After the event that happened in the previous episode, Nagisa became ‘emo’. People will usually punch someone for being ‘emo’ because that kind of thing frequently happens in most anime. But really, no one will punch a girl as cute as Nagisa. It will be different if it was Tomoya or Sunohara though.

Also, the animation (brightness, contrast, etc.) was different when Nagisa was ‘emo’. KyoAni sure knows how to do animations. Good job!

It’s Mei-chan! And she looked cute as ever. I wish she would have a more role in this episode rather than just having a little screen time. Oh well, next week’s episode will make up for it.

Kouko-sensei and Yuusuke was also there. But..no Fuuko? I’m not complaining by the way. Actually, I’m glad that she didn’t appear in this episode because that would spoil the mood a little. But still, I miss Fuuko..lol..

I never appreciated Misae much before. She didn’t have much of a role in the anime and she should have. But considering how big the visual novel is, the amount of episodes for the anime is not sufficient to cover the minor characters’ stories. I think that she has a bigger role in the visual novel. Does she?

Tomoyo was wearing a bear suit. I still don’t know why she wears it. A student council president should have a more important job, right. Maybe she is undercover to see if things goes well.

Yukine, another character that has her own story but didn’t get animated in the anime. It will be interesting to see more of Yukine’s spells..

    The eyes of anime watching

This must have been painful for Nagisa to watch. Akio loves plays so much that it was the only thing he said in his announcement. Poor Nagisa..

I never felt this sad in a long time. One of the few sad scenes available in the anime. This scene really made me cried almost cried. The things that Akio said have a deep meaning and the way Akio delivered it was epic.

Never thought that a manly and GAR character such as Akio made me cry. When I saw him at first, my first impression was that he is a comic character, nothing more than a character that is funny. But my impression of him changes the more I watch Clannad.

Sacrificing their own dreams for their child. Something that a lot of parents do but we fail to realize it. As for Akio’s case, it must have been really hard for him to give up on his dreams considering how much he loves plays. But to Akio and Sanae, Nagisa comes first..

Akio have officially secured his number 1 place to be my favorite Clannad character (yea, Akio is better than Kyou). He is also one of the most GAR character I ever saw even without this scene. He have done so much for his family and that is definitely GAR.

I thought that Tomoya will be the first one to cheer Nagisa up. But after watching Akio, I don’t even care about Tomoya anymore. With so many people cheering Nagisa up, she must do as people want her to..

    And she did..

Even though it’s the final episode, there are still nothing that have been explained about the ‘mysterious world’ and the girl in it. The only thing that I know is that it is related to Nagisa’s story, ‘illusionary world’. But, that can’t be the only thing, right? Is it?

The same goes for the doll as well..

After the long absence, he is finally here..

Tomoya finally cares about his father, even though it’s just a little. After living with the Furukawas, Tomoya now knows the true meaning of ‘family’. But we won’t probably see anything more than just a ‘Don’t drink so much, okay?’ because this is the final episode (I hope not). Maybe next week’s episode will have something about Tomoya and his father.

After a long time being with Nagisa, Tomoya finally made a confession to Nagisa. This is scene is somewhat poorly done (not the animation). There should have been more impact, just like the one during the play. I also don’t like the fact that they ended the series with a confession. Oh well…

A very good episode and it was better than I expected. Mainly because of Akio. He is the highlight of the episode, desu ne?

The ending of this episode looked more like a cliffhanger to me. A sign that there are more to the story than this (After Story). Clannad is not done yet, there is still an episode next week and hopefully there will be an announcement at the end of it.

Hmm..I will probably write more about Clannad on a separate post later. It deserves one.

Side Note: I will probably write about my overall impression of Clannad on a separate post later because I’m not well today. I have the chicken pox..lol.. And I don’t like it at all. Even though I don’t have to go to school for a week..
