Anime Banzai’s first unofficial outing as your Funcasters meet up to catch some of the action they funcasted about themselves!

So, after we did Funcast #02, we talked abit and decided to go check out the movie together.
But before the movie, I decided to check out the game Kozato was going on about in the Funcast.

If you look carefully, the flash reflected just nicely off the face of the centre character…

Otomedius, Gradius moe-fied. I gave the game a few runs and it was nostalgic to say the least, since I used to play Gradius in the past. It took me awhile to get used to the touch screen option not to mention my japanese suck, which pretty much had me staring at the screen for awhile trying to figure out what they want me to press.

Fortunately, anyone with any arcade gaming experience should easily figure it out so dun let the nasty Kanji scare you. Spent a good amount of money trying out all the characters.

It was a fun game overall and I learnt a few tricks from Kozato. Kudos to Kozato for introducing another fun way for me to spend my rapidly dwindling supply of money. For you readers in Singapore, the game can be found at Plaza Singapura as well the basement arcade in Bugis Junction. There probably are other places but I can’t be bothered to dig them out.

We met up after that at Cathay Cineleisure. However, we were running late and didn’t catch the first 15 minutes of the show. Why? Firstly, I was too caught up in Otomedius. Secondly, it was due to a gross communication error. I was responsible for both and I take this opportunity to apologise to Kozato and Hinoko. Especially Hinoko. Sorry sorry sorry! Please forgive me!

The movie was great. It reminded me of the time I watched the series and how I enjoyed it. I’m no super fan of the series though so I just enjoy it at face value. I can’t imagine myself watching it 3 times though…

Since the main point of this post is about the movie, I shall not talk about the details of nutcase’s Lucky Star figurines and how he was so hooked on to Otomedius. Watching it the 3rd time still give me a very fresh feeling. It was like watching the movie the very 1st time. I still liked how they made Shinji and Rei have more chemistry, although most of the scenes in the movie were reused.
