[Summary]

In the future, the world is populated by normals and Espers. Normals being, well, normal and espers being those with super powers (wow, sounds very familiar doesn’t it?). To combat crime perpetrated by Espers, an governmental organisation is formed called The BABEL (short for The BAse of Backing Esp Laboratory) who employs 3 of the strongest Espers with level 7 abilities (the highest class).

[Overall Impressions]

The horrible naming sense of the show aside, the show practically screams X-men. Throw in cute school girls with exotic powers and you get Zettai Karen Girls. The whole show comes across like a children’s show on the surface and certainly looks the part. We have the usual good but weird side of justice, and we got the usual gang of weird mysterious evil villains on the other.

And I really do mean weird as the first villain we get is some kind of super-powered version of Hard Gay who fires crotch beams.

FEEL THE POWER OF MY LOVE!!!

I’m guessing the next few episodes will be doing the “Villain-of-the-week” routine before it settles into the main story. Also, the main theme of the story looks like it will be very similiar to the humans vs mutants theme in X-men.

Also, is it just me or does the character art style look a bit dated?

I won’t be blogging about the show but I will be watching it for the wacky lulz and to see how it develops. Who knows? It maybe another hidden gem like Bamboo Blade. But I seriously have my doubts.
