[Summary]
Soul Eater follows Maka, a Shinigami in training at the "Shinigami Weaponds Master School" trying to upgrade her weapon; Soul Eater to "Death Schyte" Status. She and Soul hunt down Kishin lost souls and so far they manged to collect 99 souls. However the Shinigami God tells her, she need to collect the soul of a witch in order to get Death Scythe status.
She later encounters Blair a magical Witch. Soul is taken back with her stunning body and appearance, that gets Maka jealous. Maka and Soul plan their battles with failure, as Blair skewers them with her pumpkin magic.
In a turn of events after a successful battle, Blair the witch reveals that she is indeed a cat with high magical powers and Soul Eater and Maka are left speechless as they realized that all their effort has gone to waste. Thus they have to collect the souls all over again.

Soul Eater was a blast as what was shown in the trailer. It feels like Full Metal Alchemist but with Death God instead. With Square-Enix behind the anime I am sure games will follow. I also loved how the Shinigami weapons are humans which they will transform when needed. T.M revolution [I think if I saw the credits correctly] sang the OP song which was quite nice.
