Project EXIA

Posted in Figurines at Apr 14th, 2008 by nutcase23 /

I said it before, and here is it. Project EXIA.

For you readers who have absolutely no idea what this is about, check out this post right here.

For who have read my post here, you would know I do have 1/144 scale gundam models in my display cabinet. However, this is the first time I have ever encountered a 1/60 scale model and I didn’t really know what to expect except that it should be fairly detailed.

There was a hell lot of parts in the box, though it should be expected I suppose. The last gundam model I assembled should probably be the XGMF-X134A Providence. And that was like 2 years ago so I was pretty rusty.

Well, I hunkered down to work but not before getting some much needed combat rations.

However, Exia proved to be a little stubborn/difficult/feisty to add on to my 2 year hiatus. Fortunately, a little blood sacrifice always makes this go a lot smoother. Okay, maybe not just a little. >_>

*Cue background voodoo chanting*

Anyway, things went pretty smoothly after that and Exia was halfway complete. I decided to take a little break and have some fun with him.

“OMFG! Where are me legs!”

“Gun…dam……….GUN…….DAM……” <—lol Setsuna ^^

Okay, time skip to finished product.

I must say the detail is quite astounding to me as this is my first time assembling something like this after all. I mean the fingers can move! 1/60 scale beats 1/144 scale any day.

And here is the standard weapons configuration we saw Setsuna use in the larger part of Gundam 00.

And here’s the GN Sword in full deployment.
The thing’s so big balancing Exia when it is fully extended is tricky.
Maybe it is to make up Setsuna’s self esteem? lol.

The GN Short and Long Blades. The one on the left is the long one.

The GN Beam Sabers.

One damn sweet model. This is easily the biggest thing in my display cabinet now. But before it goes it, I’ll have more fun with it first ^^. Thanks guys, for giving this to me. Now I just need to find out how to make him go Trans-AM mode. Maybe I should paint him red?…

And a final pic before I go. Stay tuned for Project Likes-To-Point-Guns-At-Each-Other-Duo. Or maybe I’ll just call it Project Dynames/Flag Custom (Hooray for originality!).

Setsuna: “ORE WA GUNDAM DA!”
Kira Yamato: “Oh great, another crazed idiot in an over-sized tin can.”
