What if all the secrets in your life could be revealed to everyone with a simple scan of a machine?
[Short Overview]

Aoki Ikkou is a new member to Section 9, a special department which investigates murders crimes using the latest in MRI (Memory Reproduction Imaging) technology. The department consists of members with various fields of expertise and Aoki Ikkou’s field is lip reading.

Essentially, when a person is murdered with no way of identifying the murderer, the victim’s brain is scanned and the information reproduced on screen. Essentially, we get to see the life of the victim through their eyes. But without 5.1 surround sound. I guess they still have a ways to go. So here is where Aoki’s skills come in.
[Impressions]

The way the brain is scanned looks like it came out of some frankenstein movie. But I guess they wanted a partially squeamish sci-fi effect.

From what I can glean from the first episode, the main theme of the show would probably be the ethics of such a method of investigation as we get to see how the members, particularly Aoki, struggle with the burden of knowing the secrets of others.
Also, effect of having to watch and rewatch the murders of the victims for clues is also evident, especially for the director, who despite his youthful looks, is pretty much haunted.

Furthermore, we can probably expect some cool deductive reasoning and sharp-eyed observations as the members scrutinize the images from the brain and spot various clues to identify the murderer. For those of you who have watched the movie Minority Report, you can probably envision what I mean.
So if you are looking for a detective sci-fi thriller, you could give this a try.
