[Summary]

We start off the show with Watanuki accidentally buying Himawari’s nightmare. A discussion about dreams between Himawari and Watanuki accidentally leads to this transaction when Watanuki, after hearing Himawari’s dream, offers her madelines.

Himawari’s dream comes true as Watanuki is attacked by Himawari’s nightmare.

Fortunately, Watanuki is saved by Doumeki’s dream (which was about his priest grandfather) as Himawari had passed the madelines to Doumeki, who ate it after telling Watanuki about his dream.

Doumeki’s dream leaves behind an arrow which Yuuko, who has conveniently (or expectedly) appeared, tells Watanuki to sell. Here is where we meet the Dream Buyer, who looks alot like a walking talking tapir.

No one bargains with Yuuko and wins

Through Yuuko’s imba bargaining skills (with powers like interdimensional travel, the ability to grant wishes and foresight bordering on clairvoyance, I’m sure she can bargain her way out of anything), Watanuki gets the sweet bargain of 5 dreams for the arrow. Interestingly, these dreams are stored in balloons.

On resting for the night, Watanuki experiences one of the dreams he bought. He is visited by Doumeki’s grandfather, who proceeds to spill a little of Doumeki’s past. Apparently, Doumeki used to wear a Kimono as child……much to Watanuki’s delight. Too bad he never got hold of the picture before he woke up. Bet he’s gonna milk it for all it’s worth.

Is this going to be another Itazura na Kiss?

[Overall Impressions]

Nothing really exciting this episode. However, we do get in bits and pieces about Watanuki’s thoughts about Doumeki and also some of Doumeki’s past. Although the pace of the first 3 episodes has made this one seem kinda slow.

Watching Watanuki doing the tsukkomi thing is amusing, but I’m starting to feel the drag after seeing it being used a little too much.

After bartering for his 5 dreams, Watanuki decides to give one of the balloons to the son of the fox spirit who runs the Oden shop as thanks for helping him during the Demon Parade in Season 1. Likely, this act will come back to Watanuki much later if the pattern of the show is anything to go by.

And I wonder why Yuuko walking around with a magazine like that?
