Whaaaaaaaat!? There’s a widescreen version?!?!?!?

Call me wols or whatever but I seriously didn’t realise there was a WS version of xxxHolic Kei airing.

That said, here’s a simple comparision between the WS and Standard versions. The red box indicates how it looks in Standard definition.

Conclusion, WS ftw and Standard sucks. Well, to be honest, not a lot of detail was lost from the panning. Then again, episode one did not have much in the way of actions scenes or crowded scenes where something important may have been panned out. But overall, I think WS makes it alot more natural.

This concludes this filler post while I wait for Lucky Star OVA and Haruhi Season 2 to come. Oh, and not forgetting Hidamari Sketch x365 too, whenever that’s gonna air.
