We are reverse harem sentai! Feel the power of our love!

I couldn’t resist. That screencap just cracked me up.

This is a show I picked up out of curiousity since it is being subbed by [Whitelight], who is none other than THAT animeblog, and it is their first subbing attempt I believe.

The show revolves around Angelique, who is discovered to have purifying powers and may be the rumoured “Queen’s Egg” who has the power to save the world.

Here’s an excerpt from wikipedia since I’m feeling lazy.

The story takes place in a fictional world called Arcadia, where life-draining monsters called Thanatos plague the populace. The only ones who have the power to exterminate these creatures are Purifiers, but only a few exist. One day, Angelique, who is just a presumably normal girl attending school, is visited by Nyx, a rich gentlemen, as well as a Purifier, who created an organization comprised of Purifiers dedicated to eliminating Thanatos. Nyx is interested in the potential power she possesses and invites her to join his organization, but she refuses since she wants to become a doctor, like her father. However, when her school is later attacked by a Thanatos, she ends up activating her powers in her want to protect those in danger. After purifying the creature, she finds out she has a unique purifying power, and that is she the one that has been foretold in legends, the “Queen’s Egg”. It is then that her journey begins, and she becomes the only female Purifier in the world.

It is to be noted that this apparently is supposed to be a Romance/Reverse Harem show. So I guess it is not surprising that bishounen abound.

[Opinions on the show]

The show is average to me to be honest. Thus far, the pace is slow and action scenes mediocre. However, that is likely due to the fact that relationships and not action scenes are the mainstay of the show. It could also be the fact we are still at the beginning and Angelique is still gathering/getting used to her little reverse-harem. O_o

Either way, the show is only mildly interesting thus far but future episodes may prove more exciting as the other characters come in and the machination of the Consortium comes into play.

That said, Angelique is one gay support character I would love to have in any game. Healing, Buffing AND Resurrection? It’s a good thing she can’t fight for nuts or we will have one hell of a balancing issue.
