For my second segment, I bring to you the Cosplay Competition!

As you can see from the main picture, we got quite the few participants. So what are the cosplayers expected to do on stage? On having their names being called, they got up on stage to do a few poses before answering a few questions about their characters by the MCs.
So from here on, these are the participants. And I’m sorry if some of the pictures aren’t too good. I was right up the front of the stage but then again, I wasn’t the only one. Nor do I own a freaking huge DSLR like 75% of the people there. Even with a 2 man team, we could only do so much. So without further ado…

Subaru from the game Hack//sign

If I recall correctly, she’s a professor from the game Ragnarok

Ukyo Kuonji from Ranma I think. Big Spatula ^^

Tsunade from Naruto. She moved so fast my camera couldn’t keep up. ^^;

Iroha from the game Samurai Spirits. Never heard of it though.

Sasuke from Naruto Shippuden. He was there at SOY ‘08 and he
stuck his (real) sword into the ground again. Cool.

I have absolutely no idea who or what he is. Guitar Hero maybe? He did have alot of support from the crowd as well as from Bucket Guy.

Aforementioned Bucket Guy. Not a participant though.

Sasuke from Naruto. He says it’s a wig. I thought it was his hair too.

Cute Kiba from Naruto. Angle is bad so you can’t see it but he had his pet dog in his jacket.

The name didn’t register but he’s the same guy who carried the
coffin around in Vivocity’s The Matsuri 2008. I loved his wit.

Kankuro from Naruto. He’s missing his puppets though. Maybe they are in his pockets.

Rukia from Bleach. She did some really nice poses.

And the show stealer, Ryuk from Death Note. Back from SOY ‘08.
So that’s all the participants. After the Parade, the stage was handed back to J’Rock bands. I think I caught one of them playing a song from Bleach although the name has slipped my mind. Anyway, at 7pm, the competition participants came back for audience voting.
The cosplayers were split up to 3 categories, Guys, Girls and Its. Each cosplayer held up a writing board and members of the audience voted by pasting stickers on the boards.

Please vote for me!
In the “Its” category, there were only 2 participants. They proved to be the most entertaining during the voting process though with their antics and swapping of props.

It doesn’t matter where you stick it on, just vote for me!
And finally the results. Congrats to the winners!

His (real) sword stuck in the ground act nailed it.

I personally liked Rukia more though but oh well.

Big surprise…
This concludes segment 2 of my Singapore Streetfest 2008 coverage.
