I’ve been slacking off lately. It’s not that I don’t have any free time (it’s school holiday here lol), it’s because I don’t have any materials to write about. Ok, maybe I’m just lazy. But I have something that I just have to post. It’s about Code Geass.

Everyone and their mother should know about Code Geass by now. It is one of the best anime EVER. The 1st season aired between October 2006 until July 2007 (episode 24 and 25 came out late). Though, I watched and finished Code Geass this week (yes, I’m lame). When I was watching the anime, I thought to myself, why did I not watch the anime earlier?

If I watched the anime during the time when it aired, I would have known the feeling of the people who were waiting for the next episode to air. I would have felt the anticipation and stuff because almost all Code Geass episodes have cliffhangers at the end of the episode. I couldn’t even wait for a whole day to watch the next episode, but those people have to wait for A WHOLE WEEK. Not to mention that the last 2 episodes aired 4 MONTHS!! after the 23rd episode. Maybe I’m just exaggerating here, but Code Geass is THAT awesome.

I always loved anime with geniuses and too-clever-and-awesome-plan in it. Watching Code Geass made me remember the good times I had when I was watching Death Note, another awesome anime. There are some differences between those anime. Death Note has 2 geniuses, shinigami, and of course, death notes. Code Geass has robots (Knightmare), geass, and cute girls. Light vs Lelouch, who will win?

I always hated mecha animes by the way. That is the main reason why I didn’t watch Code Geass earlier, despite many people were talking about how awesome the anime is. I never listen to those people until last week. Last week, I gave up and I wanted to find out why this anime got people talking, so I put this anime on my watch list for the school holiday.

Yes, you got it, I was wrong about Code Geass. The anime didn’t contain much mecha scenes and I actually liked those scenes. And no, I’m not turning into a mecha fan just yet, I’m not ready to watch the Gundam series yet. The 1st season contains only 3 awesome robots (that I like), Lancelot (Suzaku a.k.a. Syaoran Yamato), Guren (Kallen), and Gawain (Your Awesomeness Zero a.k.a. Lelouch Lamperouge). My favorite would have to be Guren and it got an awesome upgrade in season 2.

    SPOILER ALERT!

During Euphemia’s establishment of the Special Administrative Region in Japan for the Japanese people (yea, that scene), I was very shocked. Lelouch’s Geass activated just in time when he said ‘kill the Japanese’. Lelouch jokingly ordered her to do it, and it happened, so it wasn’t his fault entirely. That scene was..wrong. Sunrise was evil to make Euphy do that. Lelouch had no choice but to kill Euphy at the end, a sad scene indeed. Everyone including Suzaku, Nina, and Corneliad mourn her death afterwards. Suzaku and Nina were really pissed off by Lelouch..

For me, the saddest moment in the anime didn’t involve death. It was the scene when Lelouch made Shirley forgets about him. It got even sadder when Lelouch said that he lost a great friend, and he might have loved her. A sad sad scene accompanied by a sad song and truly epic scene indeed. You know as they say, to be forgotten is worse than to die. You can watch this epic scene here..

    SPOLER ENDS

    Yes, I’m a fan of Lelouch x C.C.

The 2nd season is still airing now. Of course I’m watching it and I have no choice but to wait for a whole week for the next episode. Well, episode 9 won’t be coming next week so I’ll have to wait for 2 weeks just like everyone else. The 2nd season is as awesome as the first one and it contains more characters. Code Geass is getting more and more interesting especially with the recent bad condition that Lelouch is in.

I have lots more to talk about but this is it for now. To those who never watch this anime, WATCH IT NOW! or I will get Lelouch to use his geass on you…

Side note: Maybe I’ll do more posts like this in the future. I enjoy writing this kind of post than writing episode reviews. Oh well..
