I can’t believe my eyes!
Just like ARIA, “scenery porn” is probably a pretty accurate description of this show. If not for the fact that anime characters run around in the show you’d be hard pressed to tell if this was an anime or a documentary on the beautiful sights in Japan.
Pictures after the break.

Is this a photo or an obscenely well animated drawing?

I think this is a photo…

[Thoughts]

For Michiru’s sake…work hard…White World!
An aspect of this show would be that they apparently use actual sites in Japan as their backdrops.
Storywise, Sora is accepted as an apprentice of magic by the Ministry of Magic (close enough, I just wanted a Harry Potter reference =D) and has to move to Tokyo to study magic under a certified magic user.
Magic in this show does not involve your typical rain of lightning bolts or giant pink explosions (lol Nanoha) but rather how magic users use their magic to fufil requests by non-magic users. Requests can come in all shapes and sizes like repairing of scratched windows to conveying feelings of love to another person (with reference to Season 1).
Already in episode 1, we already see an example of this as Sora uses her magic to help her friend Michiru convey her feelings of love to a boy she likes.

Yes…It is snowing IN a shed…
Those who have watched Season 1 (btw, Mahou Tsukai is also known as Someday’s Dreamers) would know that this is an EXTREMELY slow show, even more so than ARIA and with less comedic moments. Also, this season is apparently disconnected from season 1 and stands alone by itself. So there are probably no issues if you skip Season 1.
Don’t expect any heart pounding moments. This is a pure Slice of Life show so just simply sit back an enjoy the ride and the scenery.
Oh and Sora is cute =D.

The sunflower one is hard to tell whether it is a picture or just animated. I think it’s both because the petals definitely don’t look animated. I’m sure this series will be definitely interesting to watch, even if it is just for the scenery ;) I’ve read about 3 volumes of the manga, but I still don’t know much about this anime’s story because I think the volumes I read belonged to the story of the first season; meh….
