“Look at that fanservice!……Yak! Deculture!!!”

Actually, this is probably more along the lines of a short opinion write-up of 3 fanservice shows this season. And don’t worry, Ikkitousen is not one of them.

Koihime Musou

Okay, screw whatever I said last time. Body licking, weird costumes, maid uniforms and the *erhm* above scene. Koihime Musou is fanservice through and through and I dunno what possesed me to even think it may be otherwise.

Actually it shouldn’t come as such a surprise seeing as the show does come from an eroge. I’m still hoping for real combat action though. Also, the Three Kingdoms theme still bugs me. It just……seems……wrong somehow but here I am still watching it. =_=||

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu

Actually, I never expected the show to be a fanservice one but rather a simple romcom. Halfway through the OP sequence and I knew I was completely wrong.

Kagami anyone? =D

Shy, clumsy, well-endowed and paired with a nice guy with raging hormones. Throw in all the usual cliched situations plus romance and you’ve got yourself this show.

Haruka is so moe and so laden with sugary cuteness you could almost get diabetes just watching the show.

It’s DA FANG!!!

She’s also got a perverted loli as her younger sister who likes to glomp the male protagonist. Now all this show needs is a twin-tailed tsundere and it will have pretty much everything. (Kagami anyone? =D)

As of episode 3, Haruka’s secret is pretty much not a secret anymore. It would be interesting to see how the rest of the school feels about it. And we haven’t seen Haruka’s father come into play yet. That would probably heat things up alot.

Depending on how the show goes, Mikuru might actually have a contender for the position of the embodiment of moe. She’s gonna need some serious work and someone to costume raep her though. Anyway, a show I’m following to the end.

Strike Witches

Gonzo strikes again! Apparently they think pantsu flash parade Rosario + Vampire wasn’t enough and so they decided to give us Strike Witches: Panstu Smorgasbord!.

Love the bolt-action of this gun.

Okay okay. Ignoring the fact that pretty much every girl in the show goes around pant-less, the show is still pretty interesting. Especially if you are a fan of Sky Girls.

The concept itself is rather unusual. Gun wielding pant-less girls using magical propeller-propelled boots to fly in the sky to fight giant enemies of unknown origin? It would get a “wtf” from anyone. Perhaps that is what they want? “>_>

Regarding Sky Girls, the combat scenes got pretty generic after the first half (fly in, shoot abit, Delta lock, impressive boom, fly out) though I felt the gem of the show was probably the part about where the Worms are actually attacking humans as it sees them as the cancer of the earth. (Sad but true. Opps spoiler =P)

I wonder if Strike Witches can pull off something better? A nice plot twist coupled with some impressive aerial battle scenes is what I hope for. I’m not hoping too much but at least it is better than Rosario and it does act as my Sky Girls fix. =D

Sekirei

I’ve only read a few chapters of the manga but it was pretty interesting. The show itself is also proving amusing with all the chibi drawings and Musubi’s lack of modesty. =P

I guess I have a thing for chibi characters. Note that Koihime and Nogizaka Haruka have them too. Lolz.

Action sequences are slick though nothing really spectacular thus far. It is only the first few epsiodes but I like what I see and hope it carries forward. Since this is fanservice, Musubi has a very high tendency to get her clothes ripped to shreds. Like by that sickle wielding Sekirei who uses a wind that seems to shred clothes but leaves no mark on the wearer. =P

That’s not to say that Musubi doesn’t do her share of clothes ripping. (^_^)b

The main story seems to be that Sekireis contract with a master (by kissing) in order to unlock their full powers and battle each other to be the sole survivors for right to be with their masters forever. (I hope I got this right >_>)

Lucky ass up there has the good fortune of contracting with 3 of them and most likely a fourth. With them,he has a full team that covers both offense and defense.

Musubi = Close Combat Offense
Tsukiumi = Ranged Offense
Kuu-chan = Defense
Matsu = Information/Tactics Support

Talk about imbalanced. Of course, that’s assuming he realises that.

Isn’t this against the law or something?

My favourite character is currently Kuu-chan. Who doesn’t love a cute loli? =D

The special effects of the contract, or “wing-ing”, are quite cool.

And let us not forget our source of fanservice, Musubi.
