The more human they look, the nastier they are.

D.Gray Man hits the big episode 100 as the war between the Millennium Earl and the Black Order continues  to escalate.

And with episode 100 comes the introduction of the Level 4 Akuma, as seen above, who promptly proceeds to kick Allen’s ass and the Marshalls’ asses while at the same time creating a nice crater in the middle of Black Order HQ (BOHQ). Episode 101 will see it go and kick everyone else’s ass in BOHQ until possibly Lenelee comes to save the day with her hax0r boots or whatever she’s gonna get this time.

    Allen gets his ass pwned

I picked up DGM sometime when episode 60+ was airing.

I kinda dismissed it earlier due to a certain company *cough cough* and that the first 40 episodes or so looked to me like some typical shounen action adventure anime. I finally picked it up much later and ended up marathoning the series to catch up.

That said, I wasn’t too wrong about the genre. I guess what keeps me watching is the story which seems like an over-extended soap opera stretching a hundred years. The fight scenes are pretty decent though the power levels can get pretty inconsistant sometimes.

Last time I checked, Bookman’s needles didn’t do shit to a single Level 3 that was besieging them at sea. Now at HQ, his needles are dropping Level 3’s by the dozens. And it’s not like he’s gained some super hax abilities like Allen. Why am I talking logic in anime anyway?

Nevertheless, I look forward to the continuation of the story, the ever increasing scale of powers and Lenelee’s debut. I wonder if it will progress to a point where Allen will be felling Level 4s just like he’s doing Level 3s now? Certainly seems to be the pattern here.
