A little late am I? It’s due to my failed internet connection. It’s slow and the frequent disconnection doesn’t help at all. Hopefully I can get it fixed by tomorrow.
Anyway, episode 4 of CLANNAD ~After Story~ was awesome as expected (or should I say way more awesome). It was certainly an emotional ride from the beginning to the end, everything was perfect. Episode 4 continues where we left back in episode 3. The problems that the cast faces becomes bigger and I can say the same for their relationships..

Japanese pen spinning! JAPEN!

Tomoya, you’re missing 2 people from your harem. One of them is Tomoyo, I don’t care about the other one though..
So, everyone is worried about Sunohara. Sunohara, you better be grateful for having 4 girls + 1 boy worrying about you. Speaking of that, I have to praise KyoAni for this. All the girls (which by the way, were considered dumped by Tomoya) are working together to solve someone else’s problems. Whereas in other harem animes, when a girl’s route is done, they have no more role to play. Also, in other harem animes, the girls rarely meet each other which makes their route separated from the others. So, props to KyoAni.
The lack of Tomoyo lately saddens me. Oh well, Kyou is still my top priority, go Kyou! And I don’t care what you say, KYOU DIDN’T LOSE IN SAIMOE! ^_^

Bad Guy Rule No. 1: They’re always ugly..
Well, at least the not so important bad guys are ugly. The main bad guy are sometimes good looking. But in this case, they’re ugly.. And their attitude shows it, no wonder Sunohara left them for Tomoya. And, can’t you see that there’s a loli in front of you, but you guys keep calling her a kid. Plus, you guys are being mean to her. Now, I can’t forgive that, can I?

I’ll never get bored of that smile of yours.
Yukine..she is certainly an interesting character. For her to be in that room every time we see her, the room must have a special meaning to her (or she just likes to hang out there). Not to mention her special powers, using magics and charms, and it actually works. The EPIC storage room scene is a proof of that. Hopefully it will be explained in her route.
I heard that Yukine’s route was meant to be one of the main routes. But hers became a side one for some reason. But just because it’s not one of the main routes, doesn’t mean it’s not as good as the main ones. This is proven by the Sunohara siblings route, the one in this episode.

Hey boy, go get us some drinks.

HELL NO!

TOMOYO KICK!
Ok then, the soccer club members are bunch of jerks. If I were Sunohara, yea, that’s what I’ll do. But 1 guy vs the whole soccer club, that’s a little too much… That’s what I hate about those so called gangsters (this includes in real life). They’ll only act tough when their gang is with them. Not man enough to fight one on one… Pathetic…

Sleepy eyes…
So Yukine has problems with her brother as well. Glad that they’re still in good terms. I can’t imagine her being angry and all.

Alas, they didn’t get in a fight after all (yet)

Those eyes, whose eyes are they..
That look doesn’t fit Sunohara at all, especially those eyes. Maybe I’m just too used to his funny side, the type of person he should be. But it’s nice to see him like this once in awhile. It gives him more character, rather than just being a punching bag to everyone…

Nagisa, she makes manly man (Tomoya) not manly. I mean, how can you resist the moe-ness of Nagisa?
It’s funny how Tomoya never wins in an argument with Nagisa (I think). Actually, they don’t argue much. Nagisa always finds a way to make Tomoya agree with her, although Tomoya sometimes unsatisfied with it, but he still obeys Nagisa. Tomoya, now that I have found your weakness, ALL YOUR BASE HAREMS ARE BELONG TO US ME!

I can’t believe I have 2 screencaps of you but none of Kyou…
Again, he didn’t approve of Sunohara. Even though Mei is asking you a favor…you still act like a jerk. Oh wait, you are one…

One gives that look to show attraction to someone. Look Tomoya, you have a new addition in your harem! *shakes fist*
It’s pretty sweet for Tomoya to do that. To him, friendship > pride, and that’s how things should be. But pride means nothing in this case, they won’t show you any respect no matter what..

Now, soccer players are considered bad thanks to you guys..
I really really hate those people.. Making Tomoya and the other doing their dirty work is one thing, but making them do more work on purpose is another thing.. Well, that’s what we call bullying..

You feel that? That’s the anger of lolicons worldwide waiting to be unleashed upon he who hurts the loli..

The worst thing you can do is make Mei cry..and it’s the same as making us your enemies..

That does it. Anybody have a gar brother to save her little sister?

Now that’s what I’m talking about!

HELL YEAH!
Wow, that felt good. Now that’s what I wanted to see. If there’s anything better than Tomoya and Sunohara fighting against each other, it’s them fighting alongside each other. But a fight between those two would be cool…and it was…
I’ll let the pictures do the talking..

!!!!
Those words really struck me. Those words and the emotional bgm made my heart skipped a beat. Plus, I didn’t expect it at all. To entrust your sister to someone (who is btw too old for her) really means something. Sunohara really trusts Tomoya, now that’s what friendshi is all about.

This was a truly emotional scene, one of the best and the most emotional in CLANNAD so far (the best is yet to come). Add it up with the bgm, Roaring Tides and it became perfect. Really, every time the bgm plays, it makes me almost want to shed a tear.. I love the bgm so much that I learned to play it on the piano. It’s simple yet very emotional, and it’s perfect to accompany scenes like these. And this scene has the best use of Roaring Tides as of yet..

This proves that fighting is funny and it improves ones relationship with others..
As you can see, Tomoya and Sunohara is back to being friends again. Wow, they had an epic fight and the next day they laugh about it.. Only in animes…
But..yea, that shows how close they are. I can’t see it ending another way..

It’s like digging your own grave..

Now you tell him? Too late..

*insert final words here*

I’LL HAVE YOU DEAD!!
See? It did happen.. In animes, secrets like this will never be safe when there’s someone that will kill you if he knows about it is present. In the end, Sunohara became a punching bag after all. Good old Sunohara.

It’s sad to see Mei going back to her school, but at least she’s happy, and that makes me happy. Hopefully with all the things that have happened, their relationships will improve and so will their understanding towards each other. The conflict that have happened among the casts in this route is the best in CLANNAD, in my opinion.
This marks the end of the Sunohara siblings route. It was a truly emotional ride. From the comedy scenes back in episode 2, to the more serious one in this episode. Everything was perfect, as expected from KyoAni. I’ve been waiting for 6 months for more stories like this, and the wait was worth it. The Sunohara siblings route is certainly one of the best in CLANNAD, and I can assure you, every route in CLANNAD is awesome. Again, I’m gonna miss Mei ALOT..>_<

OMG! We get to see this in full animation glory!

So that’s how he looks like..

You’re popular all right, and for all the right reasons too..^_^
Woot!! They’re going for Misae’s route next! This can only mean one thing, KyoAni is animating all the routes in CLANNAD! So you can expect Yukine’s and Kappei’s route next! YEAH!!
Misae’s route is one of the only 2 routes that I have finished in CLANNAD (hers and Kyou’s). I didn’t find it as emotional as the other routes, but it was my fault. I was rushing when I was playing her route, so it does spoil it. I know what’s gonna happen next week, and I’m looking forward to it. Hopefully I’ll get a better understanding of her story.. Until then, this is Setsukyie, signing off.
