[overview]
This was a fast paced episode. Taiga has started showing up at Ryuji’s table for dinner and breakfest, ihs mom doesn’t seem to care as "she doesn’t take much space" Ryuji and Taiga head off to school, Taiga makes it clear once they get there he is to mediate between Takasu and Minori. While walking though they bump into Minori, she totally gets the wrong idea and jumps to thinking they are in her words "togethered"
We come to find out the letter was orginally meant for Yasuko and she had left it in the wrong bag thus leading to the fight (This was something I had missed the writing on the envelope MY BAD) While in gym class they partner up and hatch a plan to peg Yasuko with the ball so that Minori and Ryuji can be partners and Taiga can help Yasuko to the nurses station. Well the plan back fires and Tagia gets a basketball to the face!
During home etc Taiga attempts to make cookies for Yasuko and was saved by Ryuji when hurrying to fast and nearly face planting with the try of cookies. After class Taiga tries to give the cookies to Yasuko but loses track of them so Ryuji tries and helps out and runs after him. Unfortenly Tagia tripped the cookies went out of a third or fourth story window and she landed on top of Ryuji.
Some time later while Ryuji is in the empty class room Taiga enters with the cookies he asks if they survived to which she motions no. She comes tomes to the realization that she is a klutz detailing all the things that have happened so far. Ryuji feeling bad asks to try one of the cookies he tries a bit and loves them and eats them all. Suddenly a noise is heard but nobody is there.
People have started to notice that the two are spending a lot of time together and witnesses start telling their tales of what they saw with blacked out eyes in all. One guy claims they were seen at a super market together, another girl claims that she had left his apartment talking about being naughty a third girl a second guy mentions how they were feeding each other home made cookies.
The next day at school Minori asks to speak with Ryuji and Taiga on the school roof top she begs Ryuji to not let Taiga cry and be good to her as she is her best friend. Yusaku joins in and says that they were meant together and a great pair. Shocked Taiga kind of passes out in Ryuji’s arms and Ryuji tries to explain but can’t. they end up at "jonnys" I’m assuming a play on Denny’s and she apologizes for the mess that it she has caused him.
On the walk home we learn more about Taiga and she says that her family didn’t understand her and it got so bad she asked to leave so they bought her an expensive apartment. She finally looses it and starts kicking a power line pole and yells about all the people who don’t understand her. Ryuji joins in on the two on one ass whooping of the power pole finally she asks if it had shifted to which Ryuji lies and says it did.
Content with that Taiga gets all happy and perclaims that she is going to confess to Yusaku and that he will not longer have to be her dog and from then on they will just be class mates who happen to live close to each other. Stunned Ryuji seems kind of down about this.
The next day at school Ryuji bumps into Taiga as she is walking down the stairs he says hey but she just walks away. Upon entering the class room he again sees signs of Taiga but instead of it being empty the entier class is there and very apologetic. They all come clean about how they had been spreading rumors and how Taiga said that her and Ryuji had not been dating.
Concerned Ryuji takes a walk and ends up on the schools balcony he then sees Tagia trying to confess to Yusaku. She mentions how Ryuji has helped her get to this point and all the nice things he has done for her and being with her. She then stammers out that she likes him. well almost he figures it out and finshes the sentence for her.
He then says that they will be great friends and that the way she speaks of Ryuji is very nice of her, not seeming ot grasp what he meant she says "no I love you" then suddently realizing what he meant she almost begins to try. The school bell rings and Yusaku runs to class. Ryuji comes down the stairs and embarassed Taiga asks if he saw the whole thing. He admits to it and she says she is going home.
Being the nice guy he is he offers to make her food because he knows she hasn’t eaten Taiga gets angry and says again that he is no longer her dog and that he can just stop. Ryuji knows and says he is a dragon and she is a tiger and since ancient times the dragon has been the onlything to stand up equally with the tiger. She says she isn’t giving up on Yasuko and she then turns and starts walking home.
Apparntly dragons back in the day are pansys and tigers can kick their ass any day of the week! she agrees and a smile crossers her face as she turns away happy at the though he called her a tiger.
[Impressions]
Wow what an episode! we learn about Tagia’s past and even how she asks how the hell she got her name of palmtop tiger! but I have to agree they do make a cute couple and it was cute humerous how they tried to get their plan over in gym class. I thought the telling of Taiga’s past was kind of cool and if you look at Ryuji has the same problem as her about being labeled something he’s not.
I wonder how this will affect them both now being that everyone knows Ryuji isn’t that bad of a guy I’d still think Taiga would still be considered aggressive and maybe a litle insaine! I think I see where the series is headed that the two will fall for each other but I guess we’ll wait and see.
Again I want to apologize I missed a some what huge issue in the episode 1 review that the letter was placed in the wrong backpack I completly didn’t realize that until it was brought up this episode now things are much more clear to say the least!
