@ YuKi-To: That’s why I’m intending to read the manga as well. And I really want to know how the love triangle between Harima, Eri, and Yakumo turned out. Well, there’s only one way to find out, isn’t it? ^_^

Heard about School Rumble Z as well. If that’s the case, the series will continues for a long time. School Rumble Forever!

I was waiting for term 3 too, but when I saw it was only 2 eps, I straight away decided to read the Manga. The manga still has all the awesomeness of the anime in terms of characters, and I like how they ended the manga, with various interesting character developments. Not really sure how to explain in words, u have to try it to find out :P, overall I feel very satisified after reading the Manga, and it seems there is a sequel? According to the manga, School Rumble Z!

@ Tiga88: lol, guess what? I’m from Malaysia as well. For me, if there is an anime adaptation of the manga, I’ll choose the anime. I’ll only read/watch/play other materials if there are no anime version of it, or if it’s better than the anime version (e.g. Fate/Stay Night visual novel is way better than the anime). Well, that’s me.

haha just wondering are u from south east asian country also? i’m from malaysia. it just depends on ur interest i guess. normally i will prefer to watch the original version (manga) first before i watch the adapted version of it (anime). however if the anime version happened to be the original one (like Gundam) or sources not available to me (light novel like Full Metal Panic and visual novel like Kanon) then i have not choice but to stick with anime. however, i think in anime/manga case ( manga to anime), they actually compensate each other’s disadvantage. thats what i doing for series like Inuyasha, Naruto (where the anime dragginess is a pain) and bla bla bla.

and ya, my friends around me just have different taste towards anime and manga. so it is not surprising in ur case :)

@ Hynavian: I’m definitely not a ’super manga reader’ like you, that explains why I didn’t even read any great manga title such as School Rumble. As for Fate/Stay Night, the visual novel is way better in my opinion. The visual novel tells you lots of things that are not available in the anime version.

You haven’t read School Rumble, same.. But you FAIL for not watching the anime. ^_^

@ Tiga88: I’m from Asia as well, and yea, reading comic is a trend here as well. All my friends are interested in manga, but I’m not.. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the greatness of anime..lol..

in my opinion, the manga of school rumble could only be better than its anime counterpart. in my case, i read the chinese translation of it and not only it has me laughing and rolling on the road, but also somehow touched by the entangled yet youthful romantic relationship. it really depends on you, mainly because of the different culture we live in. i am from an asia country, thus reading comic is a trend over here, and the chinese translation of the comics normally stick closely to the original meaning. but i certainly encourage u to read the manga of school rumble, at least the first volume, before deciding the rest.

I suggest reading a few chapters or even a volume of the manga before deciding. I’m a “super manga reader”, where I can read lots of manga in a short span of time, but I do not enjoy reading manga like Fate Stay Night because I prefer special effects and animation instead. However, for series like Claymore, I would prefer the manga as it’s better elaborated with clear moves on the characters’ part as compared to the anime. It all really depends and hence I suggest a trial. (:

PS: I haven’t read or watched School Rumble yet.

I think its worth it since anime don’t look like its gonna continue.
But its a bit boring to read again all the parts watched in anime. Perhaps start from where the anime left out… Saves money and time.

@ AstroNerdBoy: I have to agree with the romantic stuff in the manga. I read teh spoilers regarding Harima’s love triangle.. The love triangle is one of the main reason why I like the series.

Well…it’s because it’s a manga (0_0).. I’m unable to make myself enjoy reading manga,

I have no counter-arg, but it is worth reading, it’s super fun, and possibly presented better. The length also gets more sentiment towards various characters… like Lala.

In a word, “yes.”

For me, when Del Rey released the first volume and had a preview of the first chapter on their website, I knew this was a manga I simply had to start collecting. I haven’t regretted it and frankly, one can almost “hear” the voices of the characters (if you’ve seen the anime) as you read the manga.

The manga will give some bits and pieces not seen in the anime. Certain romantic interests elements are much stronger in the manga than the anime. While it is not going to be as funny as the anime IF you’ve seen the anime first, I did find the school play story in the manga funnier than the anime for some reason.

Ultimately, you may not care for the manga because you don’t like manga but for me, “School Rumble” is one of the delights to read before going to sleep.
