Hold on to your keyboards and mice!

25th May Sunday was the Singapore Streetfest 2008 D’J Party held at Suntec City Tropics Atrium featuring J’Rock performances and a Cosplay Parade!
As Anime Banzai!’s self appointed Singapore side events reporter, I bring to you the day’s events with pictures! Armed with my still spanking new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3, our two man team scored 353 pictures totaling 860Mb. Not bad for a day’s work I think.
Hair. I call that the prime evil for all keyboards. It is the result after 1 year

The new Saitek Cyborg keyboard
[Hardware]
I was dumbfounded when I was browsing Saitek’s official website. It is me or has it really become what I have mentioned some time ago about keyboards getting weirder. Saitek’s newest addition to the Cyborg family, Cyborg keyboard sports an interesting multi colored backlit LED illumination of mix shades from red, amber and to green. Metal plated keys on important gaming keys (W,A,S,D), spacebar and the directional keys.
The LED looks cool but the design is really…..omg. I don’t like it. What do guys think about the design? (lol).
It will be available on Nov 07 and at a price of 79.99 euros

Just as when I mentioned about exquisitely designed keyboards here, Razer website shows off their new products on their official web – Razer Piranha and Razer Lycosa. A USB headphone and a back-lit illuminated keyboard respectively.
What’s so special you might ask, here’s some info from Gizmodo.
The USB headset has a noise-canceling mic hanging off the left earcup, giving your voice clarity even in the noisiest frag session. There’s also an in-line mute button for the mic as well as a volume control.
The wicked-looking Lycosa keyboard has illuminated nonslip rubber keys and a 1000Hz polling rate that the company says takes just 1ms to respond to your input
The Piranha will ship this month at a price of 79.99 (USD i assume) while the Lycosa will ship next month for the same price.
Converting it to SGD, it is definitely over $100+ for each peripheral. Sheeez, nowadays hardware that boasts on enhancing the gaming experience are getting more and more costly eh ? *happy with his g15 and a taiwan made headphones*

When I bought my Logitech G15 quite long ago, I was wondering, how far can keyboards go in terms of design and price. Over the months, you might have heard of oddly shaped or exquisitely designed keyboards at hefty prices. Expensive keyboards comes in generally 2 kinds imo, the exquisite design or those with extensive advanced functionalities.
What you see on the right is a concept by Hacoa which was presented at CEATEC, their previous concept was hard to make and cost around a freaking 50,000yen. Yes, it is that expensive that I believe you will have second thoughts of eating your cup noodles in front of your monitor screen. One wrong move and there goes your keyboard. Luckily, they are presenting a molded set, which cost cheaper than the previous design – 34,800 yen. Still having second thoughts? I bet you will.
So my fellow bloggers and viewers, are you willing to buy a exquisitely designed keyboard for your PC? If it was me, a G15 will suffice or perhaps a Razer Tarantula.
